Hello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far! We did so much yard work yesterday that Billy and I are feeling it this morning. Lol. Wyatt had a blast though, playing in the yard while we worked and we had a great time out there together. This morning though, I might need an extra cup of coffee to get moving again.
So this week is a bit weird. Tomorrow is a holiday here in the States, and we are having some family over in the afternoon. Then Tuesday and Wednesday we have Wyatt’s overnight EEG at the hospital. I can never read in the hospital plus I will be trying to keep Wyatt entertained because keeping an 8 year old who feels fine confined to a hospital room is not fun, especially when they are hooked up to wires. And it will be just me and Wyatt for most of the day, since Billy will be working. He will joins us after work for the overnight part, but the daytime hours will just be Wyatt and I. Sleeping is bit hard too for kiddo. I saw this meme on the IG account Epilepsy Memetherapy and it is so true.

Read Last Week:

I REALLY wanted to read this book and I was hoping my hold would come in, so I was sort of avoiding reading anything in case it did. And on Wednesday, it came in! I practically raced to the library to pick it up, and it was definitely worth waiting for. It is a short, fast read, and I read it literally in one day. I LOVED it. I can’t wait to read more T. Kingfisher. It was both creepy and funny – the main character has a sense of humor very close to my own and I just couldn’t stop reading it.
Reading This Week:
I am not sure how much I will get to read this week! I do have a book all ready though in case I do get some time.

I also have a giant photo book to flip through.

Posted Last Week:

The Spring of Cary Grant: Operation Petticoat
Wednesday Morning Coffee Catch Up
The Spring of Cary Grant: Suspicion
Watching and Listening:
We have been watching the same things that we have been – Brokenwood and When Calls the Heart. Last night we changed things up though and watched Dungeons and Dragons, which was actually really good. It was just really fun and made me laugh out loud at certain parts. Chris Pine was great in his role, as was Hugh Grant!
As for listening, I have been listening to True Crime again after a long break. I am catching up on Morbid, Redhanded, and Going West. There was even a Morbid/Redhanded collab!
I am saving all my favorite YouTube channel updates for the hospital. Once Wyatt falls asleep Billy and I put on our headphones and watch stuff on our phones so we don’t wake him up. I will be watching lots of Darling Desi, Dainty Diaries, With Love Kristina, Alexis Dahl, It’s a Charming Life, and The Rambling Rose.
And that is from around here! I hope all is well in your world!
That cartoon is hilarious, and doesn’t it perfectly depict the situation?
Enjoy those books. I like Karen White.
Have a great week.

For real!
I do too. I at first did not like the Tradd series, then I tried a second one, and then had to binge them (or as many that were published at the time). I love her stand alone novels though.

I hope things go smoothly this week-especially for the hospital stay! Have you heard of Pick and Draw? It’s a card game where you pick the different features of a face and put them together, it’s fun and the face is different each time…might be an activity you can do in the hospital. Although, after a quick glance Amazon doesn’t have it! Maybe a few new card games, or coloring books if your son is into those kinds of things.

Thanks Cindy!
I have not but that sounds like a game Wyatt would love! He loves drawing and art. I can’t believe Amazon doesn’t have it! Lol. I have some boring stuff packed (math and reading for school lol) and then his tablet, some books. I like the idea of the coloring books and crayons, adding that to the bag!!

Ooo!!! I need that Lodge book!!!! I can’t believe the LA Public Library system doesn’t have this book listed. I was able to find it on Goodreads and add it to my TBR, at least.
I hope you guys have a wonderful Memorial Day and that things go smoothly and time passes quickly in the hospital.

It is a new, I think? I can’t remember if I got it from the new books shelves or not now. Lol. It is so pretty!
Thank you Jinjer! Enjoy your Memorial Day as well!

I hope that all goes smoothly during Wyatt’s hospital stay next week. And that cartoon! So true of being in the hospital.
The Lodge book looks like a gorgeous one. Crossing my fingers that I can find a copy.

It is so pretty! I love it. I think I might have to buy a copy for our home eventually!

It’s great you got your book and enjoyed it so much. Hopefully everything goes well and easier than expected this week. Maybe some extra activity the day before so he is more tired?

I was so excited. LOL. And thank you!
Today we are having people over and we will be outside most of the day, so he probably will be a bit more tired. I didn’t think of that angle!

Erin, I hope everything goes well for your son. Glad you loved A House with Good Bones so much. I’m 40% done and it is creepy and funny and I love the bugs and garden aspects LOL Take care

Thanks Diane!
I loved it for all the same reasons! I am such a bug person (and lizards and frogs and well all of it) – and it made me laugh while being creepy. So perfect!

I hope this week goes well for you all. My youngest son (he’s probably older than you) had a sleep study Friday night. He had a tough time trying to sleep so I can’t imagine getting an 8 year old to fall asleep especially when all wired up, literally and figuratively!
We watched Dungeons and Dragons…well, Mike did! I listened and knitted because I just can’t seem to just watch tv. I think I missed a lot. Hugh Grant does creepy smarm so well, doesn’t he? I wonder if there will be a sequel because I could see them doing several of them.
Here’s to Wyatt sleeping well, you reading lots of good books, and Billy being as supportive as he always is!

Thanks Marsha! It is going to be tough. Lol. I packed this moon thing we have, that is a light with stars and plays music. We used it when he was in the hospital after his shunt surgeries so maybe that will help.
Lol! I have times like that too, where I am more listening than watching. It was really entertaining, and yes, Hugh Grant is so perfect in that type of role. Lol.
And thank you Marsha!

I’ve been wanting to read something by Kingfisher though I’m not a big fan of horror to be honest.
I hope Wyatt’s hospital stay goes smoothly for you all.
Wishing you a wonderful reading week.

Hmm. This one wasn’t too scary honestly? I have read way creepier, but I don’t know how much you would consider scary either!
And thank you!

The cartoon made me laugh. Oh so accurate! I hope the hospital stay goes well. A hospital stay with a child that’s feeling pretty good is definitely a bit of a challenge! I’m adding A House With Good Bones to my TBR. It looks like a fun one and I really want to read more from Karen White. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!

I hope all goes well with the overnight EEG– my son had to have a regular (short!) one when he was like 4 and we had to keep him up all night the night before so he was sleep deprived for the test. It was a struggle! Mostly because his brother was an infant at the time and was also with us!

I can’t imagine doing it with a newborn with me! That would have been a struggle!
