This week is going to be chaotic, but at the end of it we will be in Traverse City with my family on a much needed trip. I can’t wait! When we get home though my summer goals are for a simple summer, full of books and bugs and picnics at the park.

Read Last Week:

I really enjoyed this one! I liked the animal focused chapters more than the others, but overall this was a fascinating read. And I want to know more about leopards and elephants now. I love when reading takes you down other roads!
Reading This Week:

I just love this cover of The Hacienda! I am excited to get started on it!! And I picked up Gone-Away Lake after seeing it on a list of forgotten kids books and was thinking about reading it with Wyatt this summer, but I opted to just read it myself. I am not sure if he would be interested in it quite yet. He is definitely in love with Charlotte’s Web; I hope he still is after we finish reading it!
Posted Last Week:
Vintage, Whimsical, Creative YouTube Channels I Love
Watching:
We had been on pretty steady pace with Outer Range and then boom- Billy had to work late all week! So I watched Murdoch Mysteries instead. Hopefully we get to finish Outer Range this week.
And that is it for today, short and sweet this Sunday morning! What is going on in your world?
FUZZ looks really good! I’m going to check it out.

Enjoy your trip! Fuzz and The Hacienda are on my TBR list. I’ve heard good things about both of them.

Thanks Aj! I might save The Hacienda for my trip. I need a good sitting by the water book!

It is crazy! And we are! I do feel super anxious the whole time we are watching it though. Lol.

I love the idea of quiet nights with fireflies….and reading before bed. Enjoy!

I am hoping the summer slow down will allow me to read more before bed, instead of instantly passing out. Lol.

I thought Fuzz was really interesting too, but some of it made me so sad!!

I like the cover of The Hacienda also. Wonder what it’s about.

It is supernatural suspense, about a creepy house. It sounds so good!

I love that quote on Summer. We tend to make all these plans and bucket lists, where actually we should just relax and count the stars and read before bed yes. It’s winter here with us, so no – I’m not going to count the stars at the moment…
But I hope you are enjoying your summer and counting the stars and reading lots of books!

I really need to read something by Mary Roach. I like the first post about summer, that’s what makes me happiest to have summers full of relaxing times. Nothing I have to do. I have one small trip planned in July, and that’s it! Have a great week!

Yes! I was thinking back to my own childhood and how some of my best memories were of days spent just being a kid, without an agenda.

Have a fun trip! Hope the weather is lovely for you.
We just started The Staircase (Colin Firth) and it’s good, but a bit unsettling, especially since it’s based on a true story.

Enjoy visiting with your family. That sentiment about summer quality over quantity is so true and I will try to make sure I include some quality moments over the upcoming holidays.
I hope The Hacienda lives up to its cover potential. Happy reading.

Yes, I am really striving for quality this summer with Wyatt. I want him to have the summers I remember having, full of freedom and fun. 🙂
Me too! I started it and it is not quite a vacation book. So I will put it aside and read it later. It has a lot of promise though!

I’m so glad you are headed for a vacation with your family soon. My daughter-in-law was a reporter in Traverse City when she first got out of college and she loved that town.
Fuzz is an ideal summer read, I think. Happy you enjoyed it.
I’m eager to hear about The Hacienda.

Traverse City is a great town. 🙂 How cool that your DIL lived there!
I had to put The Hacienda aside – it wasn’t working for this week. It has a lot of promise though, just for another time. Lol.
