I am in overdrive mode – is anyone else? Lol. I must have been on super coffee last week, because I feel like I did all the things. I finished shopping, read three books, posted here like every day, and still managed to get breakfast with a new friend, get my hair done, go to work at my job, and make cookies with my friends. Along with all the other regular things we all have to do every week. ‘Tis the season I suppose! This week coming up has far less on the calendar.
Read Last Week:
I have been waiting forever to read the Queen of Nothing and it did not disappoint! I loved this book and these characters. Holiday by Gaslight was delightful – I have such a love for Victorian/Edwardian Christmas books. When I was maybe a senior in high school, my mom started gifting me Christmas romances, all set in those eras and since then, I have loved them. The Glittering Hour was also fabulous. I read it as part of a blog tour, and it was beautiful but also a tearjerker.
Reading the Rest of the Month:
I am just posting the books that are on my nightstand lol. I have these lined up to read the rest of the month and since I probably won’t be posting at all the week of Christmas, or really after the 20th, I thought I would share them all. They all look so good! Half Spent Was the Night is a tiny little thing, so I will be done with that in no time flat. I also started the Karen White book the other day, and I am really enjoying it.

Watching:
Christmas movies! We are also watching Shetland (season 3 blew us away!) and Virgin River.
What is happening in your world?
I’m also in overdrive mode, but I’m doing everything except reading books. Hopefully that changes soon. I hope you have a great week!

Yes, hopefully you get a chance to get some reading in! 🙂 It’s hard this time of year!

Sounds like you got that burst of pre-Christmas energy last week… hoping mine shows up within the next few days. Still so much to do! I’m hoping to fit it another quick, light read this week, too.

I think that is the perfect way to put it! It was much crazier than I am used to. Lol. Good luck with your reading! 🙂

I had a very busy week, too, and I do love that feeling of energy.
I now must check out Shetland, as I’m not sure I’ve seen Season III. I also want to read Karen White’s newest Tradd Street book.
Enjoy your week.

Maybe it was physics, like objects in motion tend to stay in motion.. lol. I felt very productive! And kind of tired. LOL.
We love Shetland! The seasons get longer – at least Season 3 was longer. Six whole episodes!
Thanks Laurel! You too!

Ooh you had a busy week! Can you believe Christmas is almost here? Ack. I really need to watch that third season of Shetland. such a good show.
The Holly Black series is totally on my radar too, heard lots of awesome things about how she does fae.

I can’t believe it! This weather isn’t helping either, it is tricking my brain.
Oo yes if you get a chance catch up. We just started Season 4.
I love Holly Black! I tend to read all of her books, and this series is my favorite of hers for sure. I love all things fae, and this is a good one.

I like Shetland, the pace and scenery is quite meditative even if the crimes aren’t.
The books on your nightstand look good.
Wishing you a great reading week

Yes right? I totally agree! I can watch an episode before bed, even though he is solving murders and such. Plus I think Perez has such kind eyes. Or a kind face.
Thanks Shelley! You too!

Wow! You were a whirlwind last week.
I’m eager to read The Queen of Nothing. I’m waiting for it to come in for me at the library. And waiting….
Holiday by Gaslight and Glittering Hour also look fabulous. You certainly had a great reading week.
We can’t really expect this week to be a quiet one, can we? At least I hope you get a few windows of peace.

I felt like I was for sure! Lol.
I loved it! My husband is listening to the audio book and I see him sitting in his car sometimes before coming in after work so that he can listen a little longer. I don’t blame him!
I loved both Gaslight and Glittering Hour as well. Gaslight was a novella, so pretty quick and easy for right now!
No, we probably can’t. That would be wishful thinking! I don’t have much on my calendar but my to-do list is insane! LOL. I hope you have a great week and get a little reading in as well.

Just looking at what you did last week made me want to take a nap. Overdrive mode would be useful but I don’t think I have an overdrive mode. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

You sound like super woman! I have only read the first Tradd St series book and so want to move on and read more or listen in my case. The Queen of Nothing sounds like I should look further into it. Have a great Christmas and break.

That was probably my enormous burst of energy for the year! And just before the New Year so good. Lol. I love that series but I am a fan of fae books. 🙂
I couldn’t get into the Tradd book! I have had a challenging week though, so maybe that affected my reading.

My reading has slacked off this holiday and I’m stuck in the middle of a bio I thought might focus more on someone other than the person he focuses on. I’ll finish, but it’s not exactly a page turner!

Lol! That stinks that it is not what you were expecting! I am so terrible, I never finish a book I can’t really get into to. I am not self-disciplined enough or something. Lol.
