We had quite a busy weekend! We had the art fair on Friday, then a neighborhood block party Saturday, and then Sunday morning we headed to Belle Isle for the Kite Fest. It was a busy, fun weekend! (Also apologies for such giant photos, I am still working that out)
Read Last Week:
I had a pretty good reading week last week too!
I picked up Brazen on a whim and absolutely loved it!! It’s a graphic novel that I devoured in a day. I now intend to seek out more of Bagieu’s work. Cherokee Summer is a NetGalley arc that I requested because it mentioned summer. Lol. It is YA and pretty good. Review soon. And I am still reading Hotel Pastis as part of Paris In July, which I have been not that great at so far but I am planning on turning that around this week.
Reading This Week:
I plan on finishing this up!

Nothing but the Tour de France!
I enjoyed a couple of Peter Mayle’s books years ago, but haven’t heard of this one. Hope you’re enjoying it. Looks like I’m going to miss Paris in July altogether this year 😦 Love the photos of the kites!

Thank you! I got about halfway through and it was accidentally returned to the library. LOL. It was from a different one in the system as well, so it is a pain to get again. I will try to finish it in the future. Lol.

Oh the Kite Fest looks awesome! Grand Haven over here has a kite festival every year (I think it’s in May but not sure) but we keep forgetting about it, and haven’t been there in a few years.
Have a good week!

It is great fun!! It was the third year and it just gets better. 🙂 Next year we may even fly a kite!

I like Peter Mayle’s nonfiction so much better than his fiction, but that might just be me. I’m hoping to read a cookbook about Paris desserts this week for Paris in July. I think I will try baking something from the book.
You have had a busy week. The kites look like so much fun. I can’t remember when I saw kites flying.
Have a good week!

I was enjoying it but not as much as his nonfiction. I agree, it is better. Lol. The kites were so fun, it was so cool to see so many in the sky at once.

We had so much fun! A few of us even decided to start our own block book club! We meet for the first time in August and I am really excited for it.

The kite fest looks wonderful, and two thumbs up for a good reading week. I’m starting to read a fair amount of graphic novels myself! 👍✨
I hope you had a great start to your week. 🌞

I love Peter Mayle but haven’t read this one! I am halfway through what I would call a graphic memoir called “French Milk,” which I’ll post on next week for Paris in July and just finished Julian Fellowes’ “Past Imperfect.” Love summer reading time!
In your “About” page I noticed your son has CP. I wondered if you’d reading “Breakthrough Parenting for Children with Special Needs” by Judy Winter? I find it an excellent book on parenting for anyone but of course it’s targeted toward those with additional challenges. Judy’s son had CP and she has done much as an advocate for parents.

I think I read French Milk! Or I wanted to! I will have to check out your review. 🙂 I read about half of that Mayle book before I accidentally returned it to the library. Lol. I like his nonfiction better I think, although this one wasn’t too bad.
I have not read that! I will for sure add it to my list! Thank you for sharing that with me! 🙂

What awesome fun you’ve been having. When I save a picture from somewhere, I usually downsize it to 600 pixels and see how big it is; if it’s portrait like your IG one, then I usually lower the pixels to 400.

I will have to try that! I think I just tried to post right from IG, and that was a mistake. I need to follow you with my crackercrumbs IG, I use that one more now. 🙂
