Hello everyone! We are dipping into the negative temps here in Michigan this week, and I am planning to not leave if I can help it! I stocked up on extra groceries and supplies, including a huge library book run, in preparation. I just have to get crickets for the geckos and we are set! Well, Wyatt does have two appointments this week, but that is it. We are troopers though and can handle it.
Read Last Week:

I read Nightwalking by John Lewis-Stempel, and I adored it like I do all of his books. I generally have to order them online and they are sent from overseas but they are worth it to me! This one was a short little read but a good one.
Reading This Week:

I started Hans Brinker, or the Silver Skates last week as well. It is good so far, but I wasn’t able to pick it up until the end of the week, so I am still working on it. If I manage to finish it this week, I will be starting A Death in Door County by Annelise Ryan.

Watching:
Billy and I just finished up season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. I already miss it! They are all so talented and I love the trio of them together. I also love the new characters who were introduced!
Now though we need to find something else to watch!
And that is it from around here today! Stay safe everyone!
Yeah very cold temps, stay cozy there! Love the cover on Nightwalking and it looks good. I will look for it. We have a fox caught on camera at night … so night walking could be a way to see interesting creatures, lol.

Negative 20 tomorrow!! Nightwalking was excellent. I however will not be doing any nightwalking for at least a few days. Lol.

Our temps in Ohio are similar to yours. Hoping to stay in too, with warm drinks and good books. Have a good week.

Good thinking to stock up on everything from food to books for the indoor time. When I lived in Owosso (between Flint and Lansing) We’d do the same. That was a good period of my life, living in Michigan.
I so want to watch Only Murders i the Building. C’mon library!! I was excited when they finally got Ted Lasso, didn’t think Apple would ever release anything on DVD.

The books were so necessary! Lol. Wyatt went through all of his. Thankfully we were able to go back to the library today to exchange them for more.
I have been to Owosso!! There is a reptile store there that I have gotten quite a few of my geckos from! It looks like a nice town.
It is so hard waiting! I hope you get a chance to see it soon!

We’re having colder temperatures too Erin as there is an arctic blast that’s descended to our area. I hope you stay warm and have a great week!

We just finished Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building, so I have some more to look forward, too. We’re taking a break, right now, to watch some DVDs from the library.
Take care in the cold temps this week!

Thank you Joy!

Try to stay warm as you head out to Wyatt’s appointments this week. My husband watched all of Only Murders in the building. I do like the three of them together but it just felt a little repetitive to me so I skipped the last season. I hope you have a great week!

Thanks Carla! I think I am going to cancel his Wednesday appt – it is going to be around -20. I don’t want to take him out in that . 😦
I can see how they get repetitive. They sort of poke fun at themselves in this most recent season. Lol. I hope that you do as well!

I am also going to do my best to stay in over the next few days. My Wednesday morning Bible Study has already canceled since it will be so cold and so many have already been sick. I hope you got some great books from the library. Have a great week!

Good luck with all the cold weather around you this week. I hope you are able to get to Wyatt’s appointments.
I’m very curious about Hans Brinker. I vaguely remember reading this one a long, long time ago.

Thanks Deb! I think I am going to cancel Wyatt’s Wednesday appt – it will be like -20 and that is just too cold.
I am not doing well with Hans Brinker. Lol. I might have to set it down.

It’s going to be cold a lot of places this week. Our highs won’t get above freezing. But the next week looks better, at least I hope. It’s unusually cold for us. We also will only be going out for a medical appt.

I was pretty adamant I didn’t want to have to drag Wyatt out if I didn’t have to. Lol. We were pretty snug today! 🙂
I think I need to set Hans aside. Lol. It is not working for me right now.

Sounds like you guys are all set to stay cozy and warm during the cold spell! Did the geckos get their crickets?

We are going to be frigid here, too. Nighttime temps below zero with who knows what as real feel. Mike has a p/t appointment and then an appointment with the surgeon later in the week. I love winter, but I don’t like really cold weather. Now is when I wish we had a fireplace! Stay warm!

We started season 4 before we went to England, which was dumb. And we haven’t gone back.. Must start from the beginning!

I remember reading Hans Brinker when I was a kid. Is your version for children or is there an adult version of the story I didn’t know about?

This is the children’s version. I am not doing very well with it! I might have to set it aside for a minute and go back! It is good but sort of slow.

I think I’d be avoiding going outside too if the temperature was below zero. At least it’s a good excuse to curl up with a book though. The cover of Nightwalking is stunning. I hope you enjoy your other reads as well. I need to see what Only Murders In The Building is like sometime. I’ve seen it mentioned by a couple of people but never got around to watching it. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for another series.
