It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hello everyone! We are dipping into the negative temps here in Michigan this week, and I am planning to not leave if I can help it! I stocked up on extra groceries and supplies, including a huge library book run, in preparation. I just have to get crickets for the geckos and we are set! Well, Wyatt does have two appointments this week, but that is it. We are troopers though and can handle it.

Read Last Week:

I read Nightwalking by John Lewis-Stempel, and I adored it like I do all of his books. I generally have to order them online and they are sent from overseas but they are worth it to me! This one was a short little read but a good one.

Reading This Week:

I started Hans Brinker, or the Silver Skates last week as well. It is good so far, but I wasn’t able to pick it up until the end of the week, so I am still working on it. If I manage to finish it this week, I will be starting A Death in Door County by Annelise Ryan.

Watching:

Billy and I just finished up season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. I already miss it! They are all so talented and I love the trio of them together. I also love the new characters who were introduced!

Now though we need to find something else to watch!

And that is it from around here today! Stay safe everyone!

Yeah very cold temps, stay cozy there! Love the cover on Nightwalking and it looks good. I will look for it. We have a fox caught on camera at night … so night walking could be a way to see interesting creatures, lol.

    1. Good thinking to stock up on everything from food to books for the indoor time. When I lived in Owosso (between Flint and Lansing) We’d do the same. That was a good period of my life, living in Michigan.

I so want to watch Only Murders i the Building. C’mon library!! I was excited when they finally got Ted Lasso, didn’t think Apple would ever release anything on DVD.

      1. The books were so necessary! Lol. Wyatt went through all of his. Thankfully we were able to go back to the library today to exchange them for more.

I have been to Owosso!! There is a reptile store there that I have gotten quite a few of my geckos from! It looks like a nice town.

It is so hard waiting! I hope you get a chance to see it soon!

We just finished Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building, so I have some more to look forward, too. We’re taking a break, right now, to watch some DVDs from the library.

Take care in the cold temps this week!

  3. Try to stay warm as you head out to Wyatt’s appointments this week. My husband watched all of Only Murders in the building. I do like the three of them together but it just felt a little repetitive to me so I skipped the last season. I hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks Carla! I think I am going to cancel his Wednesday appt – it is going to be around -20. I don’t want to take him out in that . 😦

I can see how they get repetitive. They sort of poke fun at themselves in this most recent season. Lol. I hope that you do as well!

  4. I am also going to do my best to stay in over the next few days. My Wednesday morning Bible Study has already canceled since it will be so cold and so many have already been sick. I hope you got some great books from the library. Have a great week!

It sounds like you are ready for the freezing temperatures. I love Only Murders in the Building! I am glad you enjoy it too. I hope you are able to finish Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates this week and start on A Death in Door County. Have a great week, Erin!

We are going to be frigid here, too. Nighttime temps below zero with who knows what as real feel. Mike has a p/t appointment and then an appointment with the surgeon later in the week. I love winter, but I don’t like really cold weather. Now is when I wish we had a fireplace! Stay warm!

  7. I think I’d be avoiding going outside too if the temperature was below zero. At least it’s a good excuse to curl up with a book though. The cover of Nightwalking is stunning. I hope you enjoy your other reads as well. I need to see what Only Murders In The Building is like sometime. I’ve seen it mentioned by a couple of people but never got around to watching it. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for another series.
