My Sunday Monday Post!

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hello everyone!! Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Metro Detroit, and we spent the whole day tooling around. We had a good time but we were all ready to get in our comfy clothes and have some down time when we finally got home.

Reading:

I have been to the library too many times and have an enormous book stack – which is great because Wyatt and I are on our spring break this week! He had a great week of school and therapy last week and I felt he needed a break. We didn’t do a spring break when his cousins were off of public school, so I thought, why not? I am looking forward to our week!

Anyway, this is what I have on deck for right now.

I’ll be slow boating my way through this reread of Watership Down. I reread it every year and I settled in with it earlier this week. I am also going to start reading The Love Remedy and The Kamogawa Food Detectives as well. I checked them both out from the library and they are both only 14 day loans, so I have to get a move on!

Thursday Morning Coffee Catch Up: Easter and Other Things

Watching:

We have been watching a few different things. Murdoch Mysteries, Death in Paradise, Beyond Paradise, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Dirk Gently really grew on me. I wasn’t sure about it at first but now I really like it. And I am super excited because the new season of When Calls the Heart starts tomorrow night!!! Yay!!! I am a total heartie. I have to see what happens because I was really unhappy at the end of last season!! I felt so betrayed. So we will see where this new season leads us!

And that is it from me today! I hope all is well in your neighborhood!

  1. I haven’t followed When Calls the Heart – but I HATE it when a really promising series suddenly takes a left turn into either a boringly lazy trope we’ve all seen before – or into something ridiculous. I enjoy Death in Paradise and I’ve enjoyed the Beyond Paradise episodes I’ve watched, though with the sadness surrounding the miscarriage, I’ve given up watching for a while. Have a great week:)).

  2. I am reading The Baker’s Man which is a fun read. I started it yesterday and am already halfway through. We are just watching goofy things like “Is It Cake?” I can usually pick the cake! I’m so looking forward to the eclipse tomorrow! Will you be in the path of totality? We are, we are, we are! But, here comes Eeyore…I’m betting it will be supremely overcast if not downright raining!

Have a wonderful Spring Break, Erin and Wyatt!

    1. I will have to add The Baker’s Man to my list! I just read The Magic All Around and I loved it!!

We are just out of the path, and will have 99% totality. Close enough for me, and not worth driving through crazy traffic to see it 100%. Lol. I am crossing my fingers about clouds too!

      Thank you Marsha!

It’s hard sometimes to get through all your library lends before they come due again! Hope you enjoy your spring break! I hope you have some nice weather, too! I watched a few episodes of What Calls the Heart, but not enough to get to that hooked place. I need to watch a few more. Hope the series gets back on a good track!

  5. I had to return The Kamogawa Food Detectives to the library unread because someone else wanted it. Maybe some day I will get to it.
Thanks for the heads up about Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. I’ll definitely give it a go.
I despise when books or TV series end on a cliffhanger. On principle I won’t read or watch another if I come across it.

  6. I am going to have to break down and read Watership Down. It just has to be done. I’m going to find myself a copy and get started in May.

You always have interesting books on your list! I write them down so I can get to them, along with all the other hundreds of books on my TBR! Ack!

  7. So glad you visited my blog this week so I could discover yours! I’ve just been making a little list of some book recommendations lol. I love the cover on the Kamogawa Food Detectives. Watership Down is one of my all-time favorite books as well but I haven’t read it in many, many years. I might have to do a re-read now… I’m sure I’d have different favorite characters and notice different things in the story.

    1. Thank you for visiting back!!

My list gets bigger every week from visiting everyone lol. Kamogawa is so good and it is a pretty quick read!

I love Watership Down and every reread I have a different favorite character or find something new.

  8. I’m glad to see that you have started your yearly reread of Watership Down. That’s a worthy reread, I think.

The cover on The Love Remedy is beautiful. You may have to set Watership Down down (sorry!) for a bit and read Love Remedy before it has to go back.

  9. There is no better feeling than getting into comfy clothes and having downtime after a busy day! We enjoyed the first season of Dirk Gently though it’s definitely bizarre. The book is very different though also bizarre though I thought the show did a good job capturing Adams’ sense of humor. I hope you’re having a wonderful week and you enjoyed your spring break!
