My Sunday-Monday Post

Last week was a weird week! Already a short week due to the holiday, we also had Wyatt’s EEG that was on Wednesday and Thursday. So, I didn’t get much done last week, and still feel like I am trying to play catch-up. I will get there, eventually though. Wyatt did great during the whole EEG, and I hope we get the results tomorrow. It’s so hard waiting!

Reading:

I didn’t read last week. I just never got the chance. I usually read at bedtime but this past week I was asleep almost as soon as I got into bed. I did manage to line up a few books I want to read though, and started one last night. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the other from our interlibrary loan system.

I started Fuzz last night and I love it – although it is not making me less nervous about running into a bear in the woods. I picked this one up after seeing it on a blog – maybe Aj at Read All the Things? And I am looking forward to The Cherry Robbers – it sounds amazing.

Wyatt and I are reading Charlotte’s Web at night. He loves it so far. The kid is obsessed with pigs these days so I thought he would probably like it.

What Wyatt’s Reading – May

Hello June!

Book Review: Mystery in Rocky Mountain National Park by Aaron Johnson

Backyards, Parks, and Birthday Cake

Watching:

At night Billy and I are watching When Calls the Heart, and just finished up season 9 last night. It just makes me feel all happy to watch it. We are also watching Outer Range, which is crazy, weird, but addictive. Like what the heck is going on?? I need to know. It is sort of like Longmire meets a Larry McMurtry novel meets Twin Peaks.

And that is it from around here! What is going on in your hood?

  1. It’s a weird feeling to not read during a week, isn’t it? I’ve had some nights like that, but I can’t remember the last time an entire week passed by without getting a few pages read. I hope Wyatt’s EEG results are all good. I didn’t know Mary Roach had a new book out. It looks like something both my husband and I would enjoy! (Just checked and I guess it came out a year ago. Fell under my radar!)

  2. I’m sending lots of good thoughts and good prayers for excellent test results. Why aren’t test results automatic? We should not have to wait for a long time!

I liked Fuzz a lot, and I recently listened to a new version of Charlotte’s Web read by Meryl Streep. CW is one of those books that I used to read aloud to my classes every year.

      1. I never did see that show! I was trying for hours to remember who the other brother was (not Billy’s brother but Brolin’s kids) and realized eventually he was on Iron Fist, of all things (one of those Marvel netflix shows).

  3. I hope you good news regarding the test results! It is so hard to wait.

I always feel out of sorts when I don’t get a chance to read, but sometimes it can’t be helped.

Fuzz sounds like an interesting read. Have a great week!

  4. Oh, I hope you get Wyatt’s results, and they are full of good news! We loved Longmire (though I didn’t like the way it ended). I’ve not heard of the Outer Range. We are currently watching an old Star Trek series. I’m reading a book called Rock Paper Scissors (it may be a different order) which is a very different book…I’m not quite sure where it’s headed!

  5. I hope the results from the EEG are good!

We completely got sucked into Outer Range too. It’s so weird! I’m not a binger–I might be willing to watch one episode of a show a week–but we ripped through Outer Range in about two weeks. I needed to know what the heck was going on!

I liked Fuzz a lot. Maybe not as much as Stiff and Gulp, but it was still good. The first chapter about–forensic wildlife officers?–carrying tampons in the car to stanch wounds was so morbidly funny.

  6. Was it your blog that I saw Fuzz mentioned? It is really good so far! I am to the chapter on Danger Trees. The animal chapters were fascinating.

My husband has had to work late all week so far and it stinks because we haven’t watched Outer Range in a few days. I need to know what happens next!

And right??? I told my husband and he said he had a football coach use one on his nose in high school when he got a nose bleed. Lol.
