My Sunday-Monday Post!

We had a pretty good week last week! We spent a lot of the week preparing for the little Halloween party my sister-in-law was planning for the kids. It was small and outside, and masked. It was perfect for our kiddos to do something to celebrate the holiday. Wyatt went as a raven. Dinogirl was a butterfly, and my friend’s daughter was a mermaid. They painted pumpkins, made slime, and took turns hitting the pinata. We were home by 3, and we made nachos for dinner and watched The cartoon Legend of Sleepy Hollow followed by the Johnny Depp version. A different kind of Halloween but a good one.

Read Last Week:

So, I tried the Kelley Armstrong and couldn’t get into it. I think partly because I had just read a similar feeling book the week before that I hadn’t enjoyed – I will try reading A Stitch in Time again because I was actually enjoying the actual writing, just not the story line, if that makes sense. I ended up pulling an old favorite out and reading it.

Reading This Week:

Something about November makes me want to read moody water books, and this one looks fantastic. I am also reading a book for nonfiction November but I am going to share that at a later date.

Posted Last Week:

Homeschooling: Bat Week

Tiny Mini-Post: Edgar Allen Poe and Ravens study

The Wild Hunt

Watching:

We are watching Vexed (Acorn via Amazon) which is pretty funny and easy to watch, just what we wanted! We are also watching the Bake Off, of course, and Sherlock.

And that is from our corner of the world. Stay safe everyone!

  1. Glad you were able to have a fun Halloween! Love that photo of Wyatt! I’ve been abandoning books here and there as well but trying to stick it out through a couple I know are good. They are just a bit too deep for my mindset these day’s 😜

  2. I LOVE that cover of The Deep. I feel like I’ve heard of it but can’t remember it anymore so I’m going to check it out. I would read it just for the cover. Sounds like you all had a great Halloween! This was the perfect year to make it more of a family affair than a walk around in cold looking for candy event. Not that I have anything against it lol but there’s so much play you can have around Halloween.

  3. I LOVE Be Buried in the Rain! And really most of Barbara Michaels’ books but Be Buried in the Rain has a special place in my heart because the heroine has the same last name as my maiden name which isn’t the most common. Of course it’s pretty much never ever used but still! I hope you have a great week.

I’m not a fan of time travel or horror but am a fan of Kelley Armstrong. I just bought that one this week and will give it a try. I love Barbara Michaels and should dig some of them out. I know they are all on my Keepers shelves. Sounds like you had a perfect Halloween for this year. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Yes! I love Armstrong, more so in recent years, so I think I just need to try it again at another time.

I actually went and dug them out of a box in the basement the other day! Lol. I knew it was a mistake for me to pack them up, I read them too much to do that.

  5. Love your photo of Wyatt! What a nice way to celebrate Halloween during this time.

I am eager to hear what nonfiction you are reading now. I’ve got a nice variety of books I’m borrowed from here and there, but I don’t have as many nature books as I wish. Maybe some others will appear before the month is over.

I love the Bake Off, but I’m trying to hold off watching them all too quickly. I’m trying to watch only one at a time.

    1. It was a great way to celebrate. I was so bummed out about no trick or treating this year, so it was nice to do something.

Oo the one I am reading is so good! I don’t want to say since I am talking about it for book pairing week. LOL.

I know, I like to string them out too!
