The week before Christmas was not what I was expecting – little man came down with a fever at school and I had to pick him up early, poor kiddo. Then I got sick. We were laid a little low for a week there, and it was not fun. I hate when he is sick. So that week before Christmas was filled more with anxiety and kleenex than I had planned on! Thankfully we were all better by Christmas!
Read Last Two Weeks:

I picked this up at the library purely for the festive cover and of course, the owl. I am such a bird nerd that I couldn’t pass it by. I really enjoyed it! It was just what I needed during the craziness of the last two weeks. And best of all, I learned there are 26 books in this series to go back and enjoy. Lol.
Reading This Week:
I am not sure which will be my first book of the year, but I am super excited to read them both!

What Wyatt’s Reading – December
Watching:
Christmas movies. And Shetland! We just finished the entire series and thank goodness there are more coming – we were blown away by how amazing this series is. We also just started Lost in Space season 2 – Billy is a bit more into it right now than me but that might change hopefully.
Thanks for visiting my blog! I am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to as well!
Oh dear. I’m so sorry to hear you and your guy were sick. We seem to pick up all our bad germs during the festivities of November and then come down with sicknesses over Christmas. Hopefully, you are both back on your feet completely soon.
Winterwood and Secret Life of the Owl would both make wonderful first books of the year. The covers are brilliant.
We’ve just been through our stack of Christmas movies, too. It’s a Wonderful Life…Christmas Carol…Grinch…Charlie Brown Christmas…these are some of the most inspiring movies out there.
Here’s to a great new year!

Yes, thankfully we were all better by Christmas! I was worried for a minute though!
I am so excited to read them! I will probably start with The Secret Life of the Owl and move on to Winterwood the same day. The owl book is very short!
I love Charlie Brown Christmas – that and Muppet Christmas Carol, and Emmett Otter…I guess I could go on and on!
Thanks Deb! Happy New Year to you!

So sorry you and Wyatt were sick…bad timing, right?
I love the owls, too. My daughter has one of her bathrooms decorated with owl themed towels, etc.
I need to check out Shetland again. I don’t think I saw the latest season.
Enjoy your week!

The worst timing, seriously. Lol. Thankfully we were all better by Christmas!
I am such an owl fan. Owls and foxes!
Billy and I feel lost without an episode of Shetland to watch. Lol.
Thanks Laurel, I hope you enjoy yours as well!

Thanks Flora! We were thankfully better by Christmas! His teacher told me too that it was going around the room. 😦 Yuck to flu and cold season.
Thanks Flora!

I am looking forward to reading some of the others in the series!
Thankfully, we are doing better and were able to celebrate Christmas with everyone, and not be sick. Phew.
Thanks Shelleyrae, happy new year to you as well!

It is so good!!!! I think you would love it too. DI Jimmy Perez is a fabulous character, and the actor who plays him does a wonderful job. Plus, the scenery! The whole show too, is such a departure from an American police drama. For one thing, no guns!

Ah, love that Christmas-y cover! I read the first Donna Andrews so many years ago. I wonder if the newer books would appeal to me? I do love mysteries and birds so maybe I should look in my library for an older one to get on track for if I want to read the series.
Happy New Year’s to your family.

Thanks Cleo! I think I am going to look up what the first few were as well. I started with number 27 I guess, lol but it seemed to work anyway. 🙂 Lol.

Anything with an owl kinda draws me. Owl be home for Christmas, what a clever title, I love those kind of play on words. Ouch to the pre Christmas sickness, good it was gone pretty well by the big day.
