Hello everyone!! If you read here often, you know I like to end my posts with hope that you do something that makes you smile, even if it is something small. So I thought I would share some of my something smalls that have made me smile lately!

All of the fall leaves! I love just seeing all of the trees aglow in reds and oranges and yellows. They are so bright this year it seems! I am even loving seeing them all over the ground, it just makes everything so pretty. I am just going to include the cool weather too, because I love that too.

Cat naps under a snuggly blanket. I don’t usually get to do this but I will occasionally mid-afternoon tell Wyatt I am taking a little 15 minute break and just close my eyes and get comfy on the couch.

Baking. I have been doing more baking than usual this fall. Cookies and pie, scones, and a cake that flopped. I tried my friend Kelly’s recipe that her mom always used, and I swear to you that I did everything right. But… it came out really flat? It tasted good though, like a chewy appley brownie so it wasn’t a total loss. It just wasn’t cake. Lol.

A young person told me that they liked my outfit when we were out the other day. I felt cool again for a minute.

Speaking of clothes, I am also loving my red shoes. I am totally getting a pair of Mary Janes in green next. It will be like the more adult version of the green square toed Doc Martens I wore all through high school and college.

Afternoons at the library with Wyatt.

My Mythologie Candle. I buy one every year and it last the whole year for me. My favorite is The Alchemist but there is a fun quiz to find your “scent”. Oh and every candle has a fun story! Anyway, part of my nightly kitchen clean up is lighting my candle, it’s just part of the whole thing. And I have talked way too much about candles.

Watercolors. I have been practicing painting with watercolors and while I am no artist I am definitely having fun with it! I filled up a whole book with my paintings even, and made some into postcards.

Which brings me to my last happy smile for today – my mail from my pen pal friends. I love getting a new card or letter. Whenever I get one, I save it for bed and read it while I drink my tea. That is definitely a big happy for me.
