I am linking up with Deb at Readerbuzz, Kathryn at Book Date, and Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Hello everyone!! We are having the most foggy morning today, and I am loving it. I wouldn’t as much if I needed to drive in it, but thankfully I can just sit here and drink my coffee and look out the window at it. It is beautiful with the fire of the autumn leaves showing through it.
Books:

Last week I read The Unknown, which I completely inhaled in two days. I loved it until the very end, where I became slightly disappointed. But otherwise it was a completely solid book, filled with lots of twists! I followed it up with The Willows by Algernon Blackwood. This is cosmic dread, and it was very full of dread. It was short but it gave me the creeps, it was just so unsettling. Thankfully after reading these two books I had Mulberry Mischief waiting, and it is a nice return to cozy. I am about halfway through it, and I am enjoying the return to Oriole Point!
This week I plan on reading Crafting for Sinners, and if I have time, The Haunted Librarian. We will see though. I read all day last Sunday and this Sunday I have to work. Lol. Billy painted our family room yesterday (yay!!!) and today I have to put it all back together. I can’t wait. I was super excited to finally get rid of the purple! That room was that color for a million years and it made it sooo dark in the fall and winter. When Wyatt and I sit in there for school mid-winter it is just too dark, even with lights.

I picked up Crafting for Sinners at the author’s bookstore in Louisville which was all horror themed!
Screens:
Billy and I have been just jumping all over the place watching things. Below with Josh Hartnett, Over the Garden Wall, and Edwardian Farm are getting the most watched here. There is just something so soothing about those BBC Farm shows.
I did post a few times last week:

In-Betweens:
It’s Halloween week! We love Halloween around here. I am really excited because this week I arranged for Wyatt’s besties A. and Z. to come over Friday for Halloween school! They are also homeschooled and I am planning a special Halloween themed art project and science project, with of course snacks. It will be his first “school party” since preschool!
And that is it for me today! I hope that you are all doing well, and do something that makes you smile today, even if it is just something small.
All of those book covers look interesting. I’m curious to hear about The Haunted Librarian.
I love Halloween. My boys are a bit older now, so our plans include a scary movie marathon and lots of treats. I’m planning a scary-themed dinner, which I will share pictures of on my coffee post in a couple of weeks.
Happy Sunday, Erin.
I read “The Willows” last year and I still feel that dread just thinking about it. As you said, very unsettling.
The school party sounds like fun, I’m sure they’ll enjoy it!
Yes! It is so short yet is so effective in making the reader uncomfortable!!
That is so cool that you are doing Halloween home school! It’s a terrific idea.
I could listen to Brit accents all day! Any region!
I love a Brit accent as well. lol.
And thank you! I thought it would be really fun for the week!
The Halloween party sounds like such fun!
Thanks Joanne!
Love the cover of Crafting for Sinners! And I do keep thinking about trying the Haunted Librarian. Sounds like it was a good week. I also really enjoy Halloween although with my niece and nephew older, won’t be going around to follow and watch them trick or treat in their neighborhood this year. Debating if I’ll go up and hang out with my mom that night since she might have trick or treaters in her new neighborhood. I never have any where I live. Maybe one year I want to sign up to go do a Trunk or Treat somewhere because I do miss handing out candy and seeing all the fun costumes. Hope you have a good week!

I really like Auralee Wallace so I am looking forward to this new book of hers. Handing out candy sounds like it would be fun! I always enjoyed that too, and seeing all the different costumes!
We love Halloween around here too. I hope Wyatt enjoys his party.
Thanks Aj!! Halloween is just so fun.
I’ve been eyeing The Haunted Librarian. That looks really good. I can’t believe it’s Halloween already. Hope you have a great week!
I love Auralee Wallace so I am excited to read it! I can’t either. It came so fast!
I am loving the fall weather and colors! We hiked a little over 3 1/2 miles this morning and it was glorious. I hope you all have a fantastic Halloween!
That sounds like a fantastic morning!!! Thank you Cindy!
I loved that you planned a special event! I hope you all have a great time.
Thanks Jodie!
Crafting for Sinners was great and I hope you like it. I would love to visit the author’s bookstore one day!
I can’t wait to start it!
I hope Halloween is a fun event for you guys! And I hope you get a chance to read while you put a room back together.
Thanks Deb! I didn’t get a chance to read until bed but I did get some reading in!
Happy Halloween week! Enjoy Wyatt’s party😁
Thanks Tammy!
