I am linking up with Deb at Readerbuzz, Kathryn at Book Date, and Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Hello everyone! I hope you guys are all doing ok. I am enjoying this morning, it is actually chilly! We will have more hot days before autumn is truly here but I am loving this teaser. I am ready to move on to fall weather and cozy time.
Books:
Speaking of cozy, last week I read two cozy mysteries and part of the Stillmeadow book I got from the library. And I guess I was feeling a bit country last week!

Pattern of Betrayal was ok, I wasn’t overwowed by it, but I love the Zen Goat Mysteries! This one is the second in the series and I just find them so cute and fun, and I love the characters and premise. I am planning on reading the third book in October.
I am also still reading Stillmeadow Calendar, very slowly at night. I just love Gladys Taber.
It’s our last week before we start school and I plan on having lots of slow days this week since we will be off to the races next week. I do have a few things I want to get done, and some projects I want to start, but I also have a few books I want to read. Dilemmas. Lol.

I don’t think Books, Iced Coffee & a Side of Dragons will take too long, and it just seems like a perfect book to end the summer with. And then I hope to start Sunflower Season. I love sunflowers and I think this looks adorable.
I have Sunflower Season on my cozy fall reading suggestions post, that will be up tomorrow with at least 9 other cozy not spooky fall reads!
Screens:
This past week Billy and I have visited an old comfort show, Tales from the Green Valley. I just love to watch people farm, dressed in historically authentic clothes, living as it was back in that era.

And Mouse and Max like watching it as well I guess.
We also continued our Kevin Bacon Movie Binge, this time watching The River Wild. Meryl Streep was so good in it; honestly all of the actors were. Kevin Bacon does smug jerk so well! I feel like even though this movie came out in 1994, it stood the test of time and was still very tension filled. Next week we will probably watch White Water Summer with Kevin Bacon where he again plays a jerk while navigating rapids.

In-Betweens:
Yesterday I volunteered at my church in the morning, and took my guys with me. We helped pack 120 bag lunches for people to pick up and take, and also 50 backpacks full of school supplies to hand out to kids who needed them.
Afterwards we went little free library-ing. We picked an area near us, and just tried to visit as many as we could before the impending rain came. We managed to visit all but one of the map, and I was even getting rained on at our last stop. I did pick up some good books and left behind good ones as well, I hope. Wyatt ended up with two, and I found four. We left more than we took though, and that always makes me happy.

And when I finish reading them, I will just stash them in my own LFL.
And that is it for me today!
I hope that whatever you do today, you do something that makes you smile.
I love the coziness of Fall and books that reflect this feeling as we transition from beach reads. I appreciate that you all volunteered your time and then had some special time visiting LFL’s. Have a great week Erin.
Thanks Jodie. We love going out to visit other little free libraries lol. It’s like a treasure hunt almost!
We have lots of Blessing Boxes around, but I don’t think I’ve seen a LFL anywhere. Unfortunately, I can’t have one due to HOA rules. I love that you get books to add to those you find.

We are such nerds but we have fun. Lol.
The kitties really must like the show! 😁
Lol they were cracking me up!
Looks like a good week! We had one morning this weekend with the nice cooler temps and like you I’m so ready for fall. Your Kevin Bacon movie just reminded me of one I watched and loved as a teenager because I was in love with Sean Astin, White Water Summer, have you ever watched that one? Hope you have a good week!

It is chilly this week! I know it will change (which big sad face here lol) but I am trying to just enjoy this weather for now.
We added that one to our list!
The Wild River is good, isn’t it? Looks like you scored well at the Little Free Library. I have some books to deliver to the one here.
It really was so good! We have so much fun driving around and finding all these little free libraries. Lol.
The Zen Goat Mysteries look good. I haven’t heard of them before. I’ll have to check them out. Love the pic of the kitties watching TV. So cute. Hope you have a great week!
I really enjoy the Zen Goat books. They are just so cute, and I love the idea of goat yoga.
The idea of doing a free library is so appealing to me; where to begin…it’s not a thiing where I am.
Maybe you could be the first? We all get so excited when we see people at ours. 🙂
Nice haul from the free libraries! I really enjoyed The Tangled Tale…and the other books she has written 🙂 I dropped quite a few books at a Free Little Library on Friday, I was tired of them sitting in my car, so instead of dumping a few, I dumped them all (about 15). Hopefully, someone will find them and enjoy them. Have a great week!
I felt like I did pretty good too!! Wyatt was happy with his books too, both Halloween themed. Lol.
I am sure the owner of that LFL was so excited to see some new books in there! I always get excited when I see someone has dropped books off.
I love the title ‘The Tangled Tale of the Woolgathering Castoffs.’ Hope your kiddo enjoys the new school year! My daughter is back to college classes tomorrow, and son has a high school tour, then classes start next week.
Right? It is so fun!
I can’t believe it is back to school time already! Good luck to your kiddos!!
Books, Iced Coffee & A Side of Dragons has a veeeery appealing title… 👀
I love the idea of a tour of Little Free Libraries!
I am going to start that one today. It just sounds so fun!
It is like a treasure hunt!
I am always filled with joy when I look out and see someone at my LFL. I’ve never gone on a tour of them, but that sounds like fun. Here’s to a week of Slow Fun before the start of the school year.
Lol us too!!
We just started doing this. We pick an area near us, then pull up the LFL app and search the area for libraries and just start looking. It is neat.
We had a little fall teaser one day here, too, and I am ready! Enjoy the last week of summer break.
Yes! Me too. It is almost cold this morning and I am here for it.
Sunflower Season looks so cute! We had a much cooler day today too but I know it won’t last long… and yet I also know it won’t be that long until it remains that cool as well. I loved The River Wild but I don’t remember White Water Summer.
I know! We are having cooler temps for a few days and I will be sad to see them go, but I know it is not time to be “full fall” yet. I don’t remember White Water Summer much either!
Those are fun and worthwhile things you do! We just finished a week of extreme heat and ae happy to have just a normal hot this week.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you Anne. And I am glad that the extreme temps are ending for you. Those are miserable days.
I love, love, love the free libraries! It’s amazing you have a map for the ones in your area. So nice of you and your family doing volunteer work. Cool idea to choose an actor and then watch all of their movies. Kevin Bacon does play smug jerk very well!
I downloaded the app and you can search any area that you are in! It is just a fun little thing to do when we get an excess of books. Lol.
Goats Just Want to Have Fun! 😆😆😆😆
Lol! I know!! Those books are so fun.
A tour of Little Free Libraries sounds like such fun!
Have a great week!
It is neat to see what books you can find! It’s like a treasure hunt.
The cats watching TV, so precious! I’m glad you’re experiencing the changing weather. We sure aren’t, it’s still so hot here. I know it’s coming but it’s hard to wait. Have a good week!
They are such goofs. Lol. I know that we will have hot weather again soon but I am enjoying this slight shift while we have it.
We don’t have any LFLs around here, I guess because most people either don’t know about them or because they don’t have the possibility to put one up (I can’t because our house has no private front space). Sounds like a fun tour!
The Little Free Libraries in our area tend to only have Children’s book’s, which is a good thing for them if not for me.
Thanks for sharing your week, happy reading!
Aw bummer! But yes good for the kids. I have a shelf on the bottom that I keep for kids and the rest is for adults. 🙂
Goats Just Wanna Have Fun is a great title and it sounds enjoyable, glad you liked it! And ahh Books, Iced Coffee & A Side of Dragons looks adorable, definitely adding to my tbr 🙂
OMG ok so I just looked up Tales From The Green Valley and thanks so much for mentioning it you have no idea how excited that just made me. So I watched a bunch of other shows that Ruth Goodman was in the Victorian Farm and all the other ones and I LOVED them and I’ve been hoping to find more shows like that but I had no idea Tales From The Green Valley exists..and Ruth Goodman is also in it? Omg and Peter Ginn too? I had such a crush on him. Best old news! 😂
Lol those cozy mysteries are so cute.
And I am so excited that you watch those too!!! We do rewatches of them all the time! Ruth Goodman is in it, Peter – I love him too! And of course Ruth because she is awesome. We love them all. Also, Full Steam Ahead also features Ruth and Peter but it is about trains if you haven’t watched that. Tales of the Green Valley is really good – my only complaint is that they are only 30 minute episodes! 🙁
Those cats are locked in on Green Valley!
Love the pic of the cats watching the TV, and it was lovely to read about your volunteering as I sit here in the community centre doing my volunteer shift (a short and quiet one as we just have two groups in on the bank holiday).
