I am linking up with Deb at Readerbuzz, Kathryn at Book Date, and Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Hello everyone!! It’s been a crazy week, weatherwise, around here. We had a middle of the night, 2 am tornado warning on Tuesday (or sometime mid-week), where we stumbled down the basement to take cover. A tornado was confirmed to have touched down a few miles away in our neighbor city, so that was fun. Michigan had 9 tornados confirmed that night. I don’t know who moved tornado alley up but I am not enjoying it. It also rained all week, with our only nice day being Friday. Now we have a freeze warning and possibly snow in the forecast for tomorrow! It’s crazy around here!
Books:

Last week I read two bunny books! Well, I have not finished my umpteenth reread of Watership Down yet, but I did finish Raising Hare. It was really interesting reading them at the same time, even though the lagomorphs in Watership Down are rabbits not hares. I have a few book reviews coming up, but I will say I loved Raising Hare and it should not be triggering for those who are sensitive to animals and animal death, like I am. Feel free to ask me about it if you want. I hate when people gatekeep that info!
This week I will finish up Watership Down, and I plan on starting a cozy mystery and a middle grade.

I love the idea of goat yoga, or any yoga with some animal. Lol. I am going to be looking for one around here to try once. I couldn’t get this book at my library, so I bought it on Pango for $3! I love Pango, it is a platform for people to sell their used books. I have a link in the sidebar where you can get $5.00 off your first purchase if you use the code CRACKERCRUMBLIFE at checkout. My process for finding books is library first, then Pango, then I have to decide how badly I want a book. Lol. Anyway I didn’t mean to turn this into a Pango ad. Sorry about that! I just wanted to share that.
I am also reading Roll With It, a middle grade book about a girl with Cerebral Palsy.
Screens:
Billy and I are still watching Young Sherlock. I think we have two episodes left? On nights that we are tired we watch episodes of Brokenwood that we have already watched. We’ve been on the go a lot lately, and later than I want to be on the go, and our routine has been off so it’s been more Brokenwood than Young Sherlock lately!
In-Betweens:
I have started going to yoga! I used to go all the time before I was a mom, and I have finally finally prioritized it in my life again. And of course, now that I have been going and enjoying it, wouldn’t you know that Wyatt’s Little League schedule has games on yoga night? Arrgh! Lol. His season is only 6 weeks though, and my friend Kelly and I are going to switch to a different class somewhere else during that time. My plan is to go back to the original class though, because it is held in a very old building, on the top floor, and I love the feel of the room. It has a good vibe and sometimes while I am in savasana I think about all the people who have been in that room over the decades and their purposes.
I also want to mention that it is Disability Book Week this week. I didn’t realize this was a thing until a few days ago when I saw it on Instagram and I am very excited about it! I will be more prepared next year but this year I am going to participate how I can. I am including a video from the website that explains more about it. You can also find a list of suggested books for different ages here.
And just a reminder:
Lisa of Boondock Ramblings and I host a monthly bookish link party called A Good Book and A Cup of Tea. This link-up is for book and reading posts or anything related to books and reading (even movies based on books!). Each link party will be open for a month. You can find that link up for this month here.
And that is it from my corner of the world! I hope that whatever you do today, you do something that makes you smile!
I’m going to have to start Young Sherlock soon. It looks pretty fun.

Good for you to prioritize yoga. I have been searching for a class near me that isn’t hot yoga. I hope you have a great week Erin!

Ugh! I hear you. There is one place near us I checked and 99% of the classes were hot yoga. Not my thing.

I loved that book Raising Hare. Couldn’t put it down. Agree with you about people not being forthcoming with animal death or abuse – not that this book had it – but I steer clear as well.
Have not tried Sherlock, which streaming service is that on? We got a DVD from the library to finish Blue Lights, a police drama set in Belfast. Gritty.
Great you have started back to yoga and I love the idea of that big old room that has great vibes. Thanks for turning me on to Lisa’s linkup for A Good Book and a Cup of Tea!

I really loved it too! I kept putting it off because I was nervous about the end but it was ok. Well done I thought.
Young Sherlock is a fun show! It is on Amazon Prime. 🙂
I need to take a picture of that room, on the sly. It is just like this dusty old room and I love it.

I have that book Roll With It in my library, it has been checked out several times! I need to find something like yoga or just get back to walking. It’s nice when you have time for that! We had all the storms here too, several days of tornadoes throughout the week. Hope you have a good week!

I need to get back to walking as well. I have one of those walking pads, I need to just actually use it when I can’t go outside. Lol.
Oh my gosh this weather! I hope everyone was safe.

Our yoga teacher, Carolyn, was the perfect teacher for me, so it’s been hard to find a class I like as well since she retired. I’m so glad you liked Raising Hare, and thanks for letting us know about Disability Book Week.

It is so hard to find a teacher once you are used to one. I loved my old instructor, Liz, but I don’t know if she still is teaching. 😦
Raising Hare was so good! I am glad I got brave and read it!

OMG, I can’t believe there have been so many tornados! I’m glad you and your family are okay! We have them occasionally where we live in SC, but we do have horrible storms. Last one took so many trees down we were stuck at home because they had to clear the roads and no electricity for week… I have always wanted to go to goat yoga! There are no classes here. I hope you find one, I’d like to hear how you liked it! And I’m glad to hear you liked Raising Hare too! I have had it in my TBR pile for forever. Probably time to dust it off and open it up. Have a great week!

It has been crazy!! We get usually like 12-15 in the whole state during an entire season, we are at that number already. It is wild. Oh no!! That is horrible!! It is so awful when that happens!!
Right!! Wouldn’t it be so fun! Lol.
I really did enjoy it. It was a quiet little book, and I learned a lot from it.

Lots of hare books going on!
Glad you found a place for yoga and hope you can get back to the original place after Little League.
I haven’t checked out Young Sherlock yet…I’m sure I will get there.

Lol I know! It was kind of neat to pair them like this.
I am so happy too. I don’t want to have to move somewhere else for 6 weeks *grumblegrumble* but Wyatt is worth it.
I am sure you will too!

I’ve seen Young Sherlock – but haven’t yet given it a go. Sorry to hear about your weather – it sounds brutal. And constant rain in April after a whole winter of chilly, miserable weather always feels like an extra punishment anyway. I hope it soon clears up and and calms down.

Ugh the weather has been insane. I am soo ready for just nice days.

Thank you for the recommendation, Erin. We’re getting a lot of sunshine, but also a very chilly Easterly wind. Annoyingly, the farmers are saying they now need more rain… I hope your weather improves soon!

I’m sorry your weather has been so bad. I hope everyone is alright. Yoga sounds like fun. I’ve never done yoga but want to someday.

Weather is all over everywhere. We have had hot but at least without humidity. But no rain. Water restrictions starting tomorrow. So glad you are making time for yoga and yourself.

And thank you Anne. It has been a big help right now.

Yikes! Not liking that tornado warning at all but at least you have someplace safe to go. We saw an advertisement for goat yoga when we were in Glacier/Montana and I honestly thought that sounded like a nightmare! LOL. I think I’d be okay with like kitten yoga but probably not with any animal larger than that.

Kitten yoga would be so fun!!! I saw otter yoga somewhere too. I don’t understand that one honestly. I just did a search and there is puppy yoga lol. That might be crazy!

I learned quite a bit from Raising Hare. I always thought they were the same creatures as rabbits. Not any longer. Have a good week working out a bit of new schedule.

My brother asked me if we had any tornadoes, but we didn’t even have any storms! I hope no one was injured. I sure do miss my basement and wish we had one because I think tornados will be around a lot more now.
Oh, I’m so glad you found a yoga place even if you have to go somewhere else for a bit. I’d love to find one like that. I don’t want to go to a gym that has yoga classes. I want a dedicated yoga studio. I probably just need to do more research. I am going to have to read Watership Down one of these days. It’s got to be good if you’ve read it this often!

It was crazy. Thankfully no one here was injured. Find your innermost room without windows, it will be ok. I think they will be too, unfortunately.
I love my yoga class right now. I am bummed I have to switch for a bit but Wyatt’s games are worth it. 🙂 I am like you, I want a dedicated studio, or at least somewhere that is not a gym. Those always have a different vibe.
Lol. I do love it!

I’m planning to watch Young Sherlock soon, my daughter and I sat down to start The Other Bennett Sister the other night and watched it all the way through to 3am. It was so delightful, I don’t know if Billy would watch it but you should.
