I am linking up with Deb at Readerbuzz, Kathryn at Book Date, and Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Hello everyone!
Books:

I finished this one up last week, and I adored it. It was just cute and light and easy which was exactly what I needed. I already have the second in the series in my stack to read.
I also read Agnes Aubert, finally, and I absolutely loved every minute of it!!
Which leads us to my reading plan for this week! I have a few I am wavering between so we will see where I land.

These are the two currently on deck for this week. I loved Trixie growing up so I am looking forward to reading at least this one again. And this cover for Nightshade for Warning! So many things that appeal to me – the colors and flowers and the little corgi! I love it.
On Screen and Off Screen:
Not much happening on this front. When we watch tv we are watching old episodes of Brokenwood, one of my favorite shows.
I joined the Analog Life project in January and it is interesting to see how it is has really unraveled in our lives. I will say, my house is a wee bit messier on days now, since all of us have our various projects scattered in little piles here and there as we work on them. My journaling supplies, books, stationary, embroidery, Wyatt’s drawings and colored pencils and paper spread out everywhere, Billy’s leatherworking and painting. I picked up a free puzzle at the library yesterday as well, so we may try that this week too.
We do still watch television though, don’t get me wrong. And I still do scroll and read the internet and watch YouTube videos. Just not as much. I think today we are going to have a family art session and then watch The Phantom Tollbooth with Wyatt. He loved that book so much that I think he will like the movie as well.
I posted a few times last week as well!

Wednesday Morning Coffee Catch Up
Mini Book Reviews and a DNF: The Hounding, Daisies for Innocence, La Vie, and A Bit Much
In-Betweens:
Things sort of began to fall into a routine again last week. I am a creature of routine, and it was good to find a new rhythm. I got the few last loose ends for my mom tied up, and now we just work on getting her recovered. Wyatt and I also did some book shopping and refreshed our Little Free Library from the library book sale. On Wednesday last week my husband also gave me orders to take it easy, so I had fun with all of my various hobbies and hanging out with Wyatt playing. It was a much needed rest day. I wrote a few letters to pen pals, experimented a bit with watercolor, worked on my journals – I have my reading journal and my whatever journal that I am playing around with.
I also made it through my Super Tuesday! It was a tough one, ten wheelchair/car transfers y’all with my little guy, and I was whipped. That was one reason Billy insisted on me resting on Wednesday, and like I said, he was so right. But we got a lot of good stuff done.
I’ll leave you with some randoms from my phone – beware, there will probably be lots of photos of Max and Mouse!

And with that, I will leave you for today. I hope that whatever you do, that you do something that makes you smile!
All of those covers are so pretty! have a great week!

I remember Phantom Tollbooth! My son loved that when he was growing up. We have been watching a show on Amazon called Timeless. Only two seasons but it’s about time travel and you are taken to cool historical events like The Alamo, Lincoln’s assassination, Apollo 11 launch, etc.
Love the thought of your piles for journals and painting and crafting…cause that’s my house !
Hope things are going well with your mom now. You sure had a stressful week and you deserive some downtime. What sort of leather work does Billy do? When I was married before my then husband and i made belts, purses, wallets…..we even set up a stand at a flea market in Vienna Austria and sold some things so we could travel longer.

Oh that show sounds really cool! I am going to look for it!!
And lol! I am in good company then!
She is stable, and we have her care worked out. She is doing ok, thank you for asking. 🙂 Billy is making small bags right now, that are like personalized for what art supplies we want to carry. Lol. I just had to show him a pile of stuff that I might want to tote around with me, like journals and markers and stationery.
Wow that is so cool!!!

Two of my favorite library systems are having book sales this weekend, but I’m too worn out to go! sigh
Agnes Aubert is waiting for me. I’m eager to read it.
I hope to have enough energy to join in a bit for Crafternoon today.

Oh no!! You have been busy lately. I hope that your father’s wife is doing better.
I think you need Agnes in your life right now.
It was good to see you at Crafternoon!

I had no idea there was a Phantom Tollbooth movie! I started a new painting yesterday– I had been staring at a blank canvas forever waiting for inspiration to strike. I finally gave up and just scrolled through my photos on my phone looking for a landscape to sketch.

One of the staff members at the library told us! He told us it was his favorite book and then told us about the movie. It is from 1970!
Oh I love that you were painting!

Thank you Cindy! It did me a lot of good.
The Analog Life Project is something Little Truths Studio started to help encourage herself and others to spend less time scrolling and on screens. It has helped me put the phone down more. https://littletruthsstudio.com/blogs/news/the-analog-life-project?srsltid=AfmBOop9Hwa-eGpbzzoUvCZAErFYfepiQMLFoFNXlCCuCetMHxPJsfJv

Your house really feels like a home – like the kind of home you want everyone to experience growing up. That is a lot of transferring! I’m glad your hubby is looking out for you Erin. Have a great week.

I loved that series so much growing up! I had forgotten the name of her friend was Honey Wheeler, and as soon as they met in this book, it came back, like oh yeah, Honey!!

I love the cat photos! They are so crazy.
I also love the idea of little piles laying around of all of the family’s different hobby supplies. Yes, it’s messy, but it’s life!!! The best parts of one!

Sounds like a nice week! I do miss coloring sometimes, but just don’t get out the books and do it anymore. Wondering if my gel pens are dried up as it has probably been over a year or more since I’ve used them. Hope you have a good week!

I enjoy coloring as well. It can be so relaxing! I think this is a sign to dig them out one day that you feel stressed!

The Mystical Cat Shelter book sounds like one I need to read. Speaking of cats, I like the blurry photo of your cat with the notebook in the foreground. Well done.

Yassss the Analog Life!!! I somehow missed your post about it being a whole PROJECT or else I spaced it out at the time. VERY COOL that the whole family is in on it.

Ten wheelchair transfers is a lot — glad you got a rest day after that. The books look fun. That’s definitely a new edition of a Trixie — they look quite contemporary!

I was wiped out! Lol. I don’t usually do that many all on my own with him!
And I thought so too! I went back and looked at some of the other covers and found the ones I remember online. 🙂

I’m not sure what the Analog Life Project is, but I suspect it’s cutting down on social media, tv, and the like. I have to say, between reading blogs, commenting, and writing my own, social media comes in way down the line. I check into Facebook to see my memories, read a few posts, then click off. The same kinda goes for Instagram. I’m just not into it these days. I do love reading blogs, though. I’m hoping there’s a resurgence in the long form blog though I’m told that’s what Substack is for these days. I only follow a few people there.
I’m glad you got that day of rest…you definitely earned it. Mike and I have taken to napping in the afternoon. I never used to be able to nap and then sleep. I can definitely do it now. I’m up a few times a night with him for meds, biology breaks, and the like. So, a full 8 hours just isn’t happening for me right now. It will, though, I’m sure.

Yep, that is it! That is how I found most of my pen pals! She started a database of those interested in having pen pals and then we just contacted people. It is neat! https://littletruthsstudio.com/blogs/news/the-analog-life-project?srsltid=AfmBOop9Hwa-eGpbzzoUvCZAErFYfepiQMLFoFNXlCCuCetMHxPJsfJv And same for me with Instagram, FB, etc. I haven’t been on there as much. I usually do it like 15 minutes or so in the evening.
Take those naps! You need to keep rested as well, and those types of nights of nursing are tough! It will get better.

Those corgi book covers are so pretty! I don’t need to help my friend transfer so much now as she has a lot of what she needs at her retirement complex and doesn’t go out of it very much (she does get to go outside, just rolling along the lovely flat surface to get into the courtyard!). I originally went to the gym to build myself up for lifting her powerchair into the boots of cars as it’s so heavy, but now I’m working at the Community Centre quite a lot, it’s very helpful to be strong enough to support fridges, move chairs and tables, etc.!

They are, aren’t they? They just make me think of spring!
Phew lifting a powerchair would be tough!! Good on you! Wyatt’s wheelchair is small still, and 40 lbs so its not too bad, it is Wyatt who is getting bigger! LOL. I do need to start some weightlifting routine.

The powerchair needs two reasonably strong people to lift it – so me and a taxi driver can do it. But you need to know how to lift safely and I think it will be easier now I’m significantly stronger.
