Friday Afternoon Coffee Catch Up, Minus the Coffee

Hello everyone! Today is a kind of a blah day here. Wyatt caught a cold somewhere and hasn’t been feeling well. He is all stuffed up and coughing and had a low grade fever last night and this morning. I hate when he is sick! And, I am feeling a bit under the weather today as well. I need to fight this off! Yuck!

This week was just a week. Nothing too exciting, and then Wyatt started not feeling well on Wednesday so we didn’t do too much after that. I did take Mouse in for a wellness check at the vet. Her eyes are a little runny, and she has been having some litter box training issues so I thought I would take her in. She was such a good little girl, and they all loved her.

I am so glad that I took her in. The vet detected a low grade heart murmur, which he said she might outgrow later, but that they may not spay her when we take her in this month (she is getting spayed somewhere else). So we will find out what happens. My poor baby! He said the fact that she is not fatigued or coughing are all good signs. Other than that, the visit went pretty well. They said she might just be taking a little bit more time to learn the litter box ways, as she is now going next to the box, like a goof. She will figure it out. I hope. Lol.

Miso is trying hard with these kittens. She is still very good with them, although I can tell they annoy her a little. This picture sort of reminds me of Garfield and Nermal!

Max is still Max, an orange floof. He loves Wyatt, which is what I wanted, a pet that Wyatt can grow up with. Miso is my cat, she loves me the most, she’s older than Wyatt, you get it. So the kittens are Wyatt’s growing up pets. Mouse likes Wyatt too, but Max is more attached to him, and will cuddle up next to him. Although, as if they sensed that sentence, Mouse just wandered over to Wyatt to cuddle him. Maybe she knows he doesn’t feel well today.

Michigan is like one giant germ right now! My brother’s family has been sick too, and my little tiny niece, the hurricane, was diagnosed this morning with low grade pneumonia. The doctor gave her some antibiotics and said she should be feeling better within a day or two. Poor baby girl!

I am also so behind on replying to comments and visiting blogs. I apologize. Hopefully I can get to it soon.

And I think that is sort of it for today! I am feeling sort of crummy and uninspired. Lol. Stay safe and well friends!

  1. Sometimes a low-level week is exactly what you need, especially mid-winter when it is so cold, snowy and seemingly never ending. Poor Mouse. If Mouse’s litterbox habits continue, pick up some puppy pads at Costco (best price versus pet stores or even online) and put one under the box, just hanging out enough to cover where she goes. It doesn’t solve the problem (you need to change it after, of course, before the next cat comes along!) but it does save the flooring or carpet. You might also want to add another litterbox — they say one per cat, I think.

Oh, that Max! Makes me want to just hug him. So many Gypsy memories.

    Y’all feel much better soon!

    1. This winter will never end! Lol. Or so it feels.

So, I bought puppy pads and this little goof moved them to pee under them. Lolol. I have four litter boxes right now, different sizes, etc. She seems to be doing better with going in the right place, but not every time. She is a stinker.

He is a sweetheart! So is Mouse, but she is more playful right now than cuddly, unless she is tired. Max though likes to crawl right up on my shoulder to cuddle me. Good thing he is little! Lol.

The kitties are gorgeous. I know you have fun watching them play. Loki has a low grade heart murmur as well but it’s nothing the vet owrries about. they just check it before putting him under anesthesia before a teeth cleaning.

Hope you all get to feeling better!

  3. Erin, I want you to know that comment above from swimming peach is me, Tina at Turn the Page. I used to have a WP blog and for some reason it now assigns me a name when I try and comment on other WP blogs. Ugh. Can;t seem to delete it.

  4. Cats are excellent medicine, and I hope y’all are recovering by this point ❤

Mouse may be extremely finicky about the litter box as well – we’ve had a cat that would not use the litter box if she thought it was too dirty. She’d always be the first one in when we cleaned it though, lol

They’re just so incredibly cute 🙂

    1. We are feeling much better, thank you!

She is having some issues still. She seems to get pooing in the box, but peeing is hit or miss. I’ve got four boxes and I scoop twice a day right now. I think it is my fault and I don’t know how to fix it! When we first got them it was that bitter bitter cold, and I had them in the office. I was afraid it was cold so I put a towel near the door and I think she was going on it, and maybe thinks that is what she is supposed to do?

      1. Maybe 🤔 And maybe she’s a sassyfrass kitten with her own ideas 😂 Mom mentioned last night that her girl cat has started standing at the edge of the litter box and going *outside*/over the edge. Cats are weird sometimes with the quirks they pick up around potty time. Hopefully she figures it out soon!

  7. I have been loving your kitty photos!

In our house we have to pretend we dont want the cats to cuddle us for them to cuddle us sometimes. They always seem to want to cuddle when we aren’t in the mood for them. Ha!
