I was curious the other day about how many books I have read in 2025 that have cats on the cover. We will find out!
January:
None. Although I did read a book that had various woodland animals on it.
February:
Just one. Starting off slow here.

March:
March coming in hot with four!

April:
Zero. Dragons and rabbits, yes. Cats, no.
May:
One. Although I think I might need to do a count of how many I have read with lighthouses on the cover too. Lol.

June:
Zero. It’s looking like a big slowdown here in spring and summer!
July:
Zero. However, lots of islands and campgrounds.
August:
Two. L.M. Montgomery put us back in business!

September:
One.

October:

November:

A flying cat!
December:
None.
Hmm. I feel like I could do better than this! How about a book with a different sort of a cat on the cover?

Do you notice any similarities about the covers of books you read?
I hope that whatever you do today, you do something that makes you smile!
Cats on covers definitely seem to be trendy these days! I’m tempted to see how many I’ve read😁

It really is! I noticed it when I was looking at my October reading, that I had read so many with cats. It made me look back. Lol

I didn’t think I had read any with cats on the cover but found a couple when I looked back.

I had some months that had so many. Lol.

I love your new kitten! All the British Library Crime Series books have similar covers based on those old travel posters. Same with series books. I love it when I see a book not from a series but looks like it could be!

Thanks Jeannie!! We also have a gray one, that we named Mouse. They play like crazy! I have seen those books and they are beautiful!

I too often find myself reading “cats on the cover” 🙂 There’s something about seeing a kitty on a book that says “read me”. Beyond that … I feel like I sometimes end up with similar colors. I know one year I accidentally read all pinky/red books in February, lol … It’ll be interesting to see how this year’s book cover colors come together in the crochet blanket – see if there are any sections of one over the others 🙂

I agree!! Like you just know it is going to have some good vibes.
I love your crochet blanket reading tracker. It is just so cool! I am curious too, to see how your reading year of color will go!

I used to look for chick lit book covers. They were usually pastel colors. Then, I kinda “outgrew” that phase of my life. Now that I read mainly on my iPad, I don’t really notice the covers that much! That last cat on the cover was the cutest!

The little flying cat from Enchanted Greenhouse? They are so fun! Can you imagine flying cats though? They would be the ultimate hunters. Lol.

Since I read a lot of mystery there is usually a sleuth of some sort on the cover but also …. Cats. It would be interesting to see how many of my book covers had cats in there somewhere!

I actually thought about that, about how many cozy mystery readers would end up with!! I’m sure it would be at least double what I have!

Oh definitely. lol. Last year I didn’t read as many cozies, though. More crime fiction or detective or whatever Christie type books are called.
