Hello everyone!! We made it all the back around to Sunday. Besides the news this week, I had sort of a personally crazy week full of bodily mishaps. Lol. I busted my knee against the car transferring Wyatt from his chair to the car, and it got all huge and bruised for a night, then I got the pneumonia shot which made me all achy for 24 hours, and my arm still hurts! I put that shot off for two years because the first pneumonia shot I got was rough, so I figured this one would be too. However after having the flu followed by pneumonia in my late twenties and remembering how crap that felt, I decided to suck it up for the 24 hours and get it done.
Books:

I am currently reading the newest Royal Street Novel, The Lady on Esplanade. I love New Orleans and I love this series set there for its historic preservation and ghostly vibes. So fun!
I am also slowboating my way through Stillmeadow and Sugarbridge because it is s such a wonderful calm read. I like to read it in small bits when I need uplifting.
Screens:
We finally started the newest season of Stranger Things, and it really is so good, despite all the actors being so much older now! It is cute though when they do flashbacks and they are all just tiny – it is crazy they were so young when the show started! We are close to the end now, maybe just one more episode I think? Then I think we might move on to Yellowjackets again, which we were saving for winter.
As for the blog, I posted only a few times last week.

Mini Book Review: The Bewitching, Dinner for Vampires, and Moon of the Crusted Snow
A Cozy Little Life: Small Things that Make Me Smile
In-Betweens:
It was a crazy week, as I mentioned above. We also started back to homeschool last week, back to physical therapy at the clinic, and had our Blackbirds Kids Club meeting. It is always so hectic getting back to the routine after break!
And I will leave you with just a few photos from the camera roll!

I hope that whatever you do this week, you do something that makes you smile!
Next time you get a shot, ask them to do it higher up your arm than usual, I’ve found it makes a big difference.
I hope your knee and arm feel better soon.
Wishing you a happy reading week

There is a reason my husband’s nickname for me is Calamity. LOL. Thank you Shelleyrae.

Sorry to hear about the mishaps! Stillmeadow and Sugarbridge sounds good as something calming. With world events, we need some calm in our lives! Have a good week.

My husband’s nickname for me is Calamity. Lol. It is fitting. And we definitely need to find calm where we can! Thanks Gail!

Yikes, Erin! The things we do to ourselves, LOL! I hope that the shot is effective, despite the discomfort of it. Have a better week 🙂

It is! Lol. I spent this weekend just crossing stuff off of my list to make the week ahead easier and I think I am … good. Lol. Hopefully. It is always good to be back to routine, at least for me. 🙂

Hope next week is a bit less hectic! Mine was a bit wild too — I didn’t even have that much time off, but I still felt like everything was a lot to get used to again, hehe.
Hope you have a good week!

Thanks! And lol! I am a SAHM, I homeschool, so I didn’t have to technically go back but we did have to resume our routine. Which was sooo hard! And same, I hope you do too!

I’m allergic to the flu shot so I never get it. I wonder if the pneumonia shot is similar? Hope you have a good week😁

That is a good question! If it is due to a particular ingredient like due to a sulphur allergy then I would probably avoid it. Thanks Tammy!

Oh, I hope your knee is OK now. I’m extra careful with mine these days. I need to get a pneumonia shot, but I keep putting it off because any shot knocks me for a loop for a couple of days after. I’m currently reading the book you recommended about the Indigenous people whose community loses power…can’t remember the name. It’s amazing. I want to cheat and look at the end, but I’m not going to do that. I feel like I need to go back and watch a couple episodes from the last season of Stranger Things before starting the new one. We’re currently watching The Order which is about werewolves and witches (I think) at some kind of school. Needless to say, they don’t like each other except for the ones who fall in love like they always do! And, I finished my shawl!

Oh my gosh, it was so painful!! It was better the next day though so that was good. Phew.
Yeah, I put that one off for that reason. I knew it would be a doozy for me since the other pneumonia shot I got did the same thing. It sucked though, I got it, felt like crap, and still had to run our Blackbirds Kids Club the very next day. I managed but I was soooo glad for my bed that night. Lol.
Oh my gosh isn’t that so good? And Marsha, I totally had to peek at the ending!!! LOL. I am such a cheater.
We watched that! I wondered if that is what you were watching! We liked it.

Oh no Erin! That injury sounds painful! I’m glad you decided to get the pneumonia shot especially having had pneumonia in the past. I hope you have a less traumatic week ahead!

It was! It was really alarming to see a goose egg on top of my knee! I am glad it healed up by the next day. Phew.
Yeah, my doctor has been nagging me and she was totally right to do so. I have asthma and have had pneumonia in the past so it was the right move in my mind. Even though it hurt so much! Lol

My husband always reacts to the flu shot. But like you said 24 hours versus being really sick. I’m going to check out the Royal Street mysteries.

Yeah it’s like I can deal with it. I was so sick when I had it, it took me months to feel better – and I was younger and in better shape then!

I always get a flu shot, as well as any Covid boosters, but I’ve not yet gotten a pneumonia shot. I think next winter is when I’ll be due, as I’ll be turning 65. I be sure to plan for a day of vegging after that shot!

I hope you’re feeling better! I can relate to the struggle of getting back to routines. My kid went a little feral during winter break. 🙂

Hope your knee’s feeling better now! How often are you supposed to have the pneumonia vaccine? Matthew gets it free for being diabetic, and has it every 5 years I think (alongside the flu one, one in each arm, which is a bit of a challenge!) and I don’t get one as you can’t get it privately and I’m not eligible for it!
