Hello everyone!! I hope that you are all doing well. We had a pretty good week here last week, just a few bumps but mostly good. Today we are working on some projects around here before heading to my cousin’s house for a family get together of cousins, which my cousin hosts once a month. I love that our kids are growing up around each other!
Read Last Week:

I loved both of these books. How to Talk to Your Succulent is a middle-grade graphic novel, and deals with loneliness, grief, and the importance of open and honest communication, in a very whimsical and magical way.
I knew I had to read Shady Hollow. I love anthropomorphic animal stories, and the main character is a fox to boot? This book was really well-written, and I feel like I learned a bit about the process of journalism as well while reading (with a little extra clarification from Lisa). All in all, a very good cozy mystery, full of woodland creatures!
Reading This Week:

This week I am reading A Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons by J. Penner! I am looking forward to it; I mean, just look at all those cozy cute images on the cover! I want a unicorn teapot! And cinnamon rolls! And a dragon!

Watching:
Billy and I have been watching The Great British Bake Off all week. It always makes us both want to bake! This time it was Billy’s turn, and he made a savory monkey bread last night that was delicious. It was filled with cotswold cheese and was so good. He is going to make a version for Thanksgiving and I am excited. He is going to add olives which I think will be the perfect touch.
Wyatt and I also prepped for Christmas movie watching! We decided to put all the names of the movies we want to watch into a jar and every time we are going to watch one, Wyatt will draw that night’s movie.
Around the Internets:
Just a reminder that Lisa hosts a monthly linky, that I help with, called A Good Book and a Cup of Tea. Make sure to link up any book related posts! We love to hear!

Also, we will be hosting Comfy Cozy Christmas starting the day after Thanksgiving! Anything holiday related – any December holiday – at all that strikes your fancy and you write about, please think about sharing on our linky – and I hope I can get it working again on my blog before then! Again, we love to hear everyone’s stories!

And that is it from me today! I hope that whatever you do, you do something that makes you smile!
I’m being a bit lazy and reading in bed right now. Jack is curled up at the end of the bed, snoring! Doesn’t it seem like YA books have so much more meaning to them now? I’m glad authors choose to write books with messages as well as the goofy ones. One of my former students has written a book. I can’t wait to read it. He was probably my favorite student of all time, kept me on my toes with his questions. Just an all around brilliant person!

Aww that sounds super cozy and like a good hurkle durkle!
They do. I don’t remember many books like that when I was a kid. Maybe books by Paula Danziger? I think it is wonderful kids have so many to choose from, and books that can help them through tough times or entertain them or whatever they need.
And that is fantastic!!! How exciting!!

It is wonderful that the cousins are getting to grow up and do things together. I wish my daughter had that with her cousins but they were far away. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Two of my cousins live farther away, so we don’t get to see their children as often but we at least try to see them twice a year. Wyatt’s own little cousins are nearby so that is nice!

I wish I could watch the current bake-off shows. I don’t have netflix but I do watch some of the old ones on Roku. Those had Mary Berry and I really liked her so no complaints but it would be fun to see a new crew!

Maybe they will move to another streaming service soon! The Mary Berry ones are pretty awesome though. 🙂

I want to read Shady Hollow this next year. I am reading one now that you might like too –The Tale of Hill Top Farm, which is about Beatrix Potter moving to her farm and then becoming involved in a murder mystery. The animals in it talk but only too each other. They can’t get the humans to understand them, so far anyhow.

The covers on the first three books are so eye-catching. And the stories sound so sweet.

I really enjoyed this first book. It was sort of slow in places but I got used to the pace. I really liked the main character!
That book does sound like a book I would love! I need to add it to my list!

I answered this I thought! Lolol. I think you will like Shady Hollow, especially since the MC is a journalist! And I agree, I think I would absolutely love that mystery series!

Our kids were so fortunate to grow up with their cousins on both sides of the family. And we grownups were glad to be able to spend time with our siblings.
Thanksgiving is peak baking time for me. I’m still trying to decide what I want to bake when we get to Chicago next week.

It is really nice to have Wyatt’s cousins, and my cousins and their children around. I only have one cousin who is farther away, Chicago, so we don’t get to see her and her children very often, sadly.
Oo you are venturing north! It’s been pretty mild here, hopefully it stays that way for you!

I love that all the cousins see each other regularly. We grew up visiting our cousins regularly and I wish it continued into adulthood.

A Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons is definitely going on my TBR. The Great British Baking Show always makes me want to cook too. I love the sound of your hubby’s savoury monkey bread, you’ll have to share the recipe.
Wishing you a happy reading week

Cute images on the Penner book. I hope there’s some drawings inside as well. Looks like a fun read. I think it could be time to watch a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. lol. Supposed to be snowy on Thursday. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

There are not. At least not in this version. I wonder if they have any special editions art inside? Hmm. And I think you are right!!! That will be fun to watch tomorrow. I totally forgot about that one!
