It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hello everyone! It was a pretty good week around here. I have been catching up on a lot of projects and work that I haven’t had time for, and it feels good to get those things done. We also had the grand opening for Wyatt’s Little Free Library last Sunday! He was so excited and proud!

As far as reading goes, I started Pat of Silver Bush and it was slow going at first to get into it. I had a hard time with reading Judy Plum’s dialect and it was just distracting me and I would read about two pages and put the book down. I finally was able to settle down with it yesterday and now I am on a roll. I love how Pat is such a little homebody.

I will be continuing to read this, and when I finish I have this one all lined up.

This wasn’t on my August TBR but I found it while at the library and I thought the cover looked so happy I had to pick it up.

Hello August!

Thursday Morning Coffee Catch Up

Watching:

Billy and I finished up Season 3 of Dark Winds and it was amazing. That show is so well done. I already can’t wait until Season 4. We also watched Death Valley, which I really enjoyed, and we just started watching Nautilus. Nautilus is like the perfect amount of cheese and action. It reminds us both of Firefly for some reason.

And that is it from around here! I hope that whatever you do today, you do something that makes you smile!

  1. We loved Firefly and still use catch phrases from it. It’s all shiny, right?! Will check that series Nautilus for sure. Did you change your header photo? I thought i saw a new one of Wyatt.

    1. LOL! I loved Firefly too!! I was so mad it was cancelled and we only had a few episodes. There is just some quality to Nautilus that reminds me of it. Firefly is far superior.

Hmm. I might have changed it and changed it again. Lol. I was messing around with it since we have been home while he recovers.

It’s quiet here. Both the dog and the husband are snoring so maybe it’s not all that quiet. I’m trying to work up the energy (well, more like heat resistance) to go outside and water my plants. I remember seeing the name, Firefly, but I haven’t watched it. We’re, of course, deep into Star Trek: Strange New Worlds! Gosh, those guys certainly have to stay in shape to wear those uniforms. I am reading Sweetgrass which just isn’t catching my attention. The entrance to our library has been re-opened (the one I know how to get to) so I think a trip there is in store soon.

Have a wonderful week, Erin, Billy, and Wyatt!

    1. I love a quiet morning. My kid is an early bird though so to have one I have to get up at like 5 and that rarely happens. Lol.

Firefly was so fun, but was so short since it was cancelled. 😦

Lolol! I was thinking the other day Wyatt might like Star Trek.

I read Pat of Silver Bush, and I mentioned it took me a bit to get into it. I enjoyed it but it was not my favorite Montgomery.

Our library is about to be remodeled!!! It is going to be so weird not going and browsing. I am going to have to take Wyatt somewhere else to do that. We will still be able to order books and pick them up so he can see his library friends.

  3. I love that photo of Wyatt and his Little Free Library. I hope he enjoys his as much as I do. My original library, #2924, was one my husband built for me, but we had to replace it last year. A grant from my school district allowed me to build and install several more LFLs: #30157 (in a mobile home park), #37388 (at my school), #31446 (now run by the City of Liverpool), #37386 (which disappeared after this mobile home park was purchased by a new owner), and #37387 (at a church near an area heavily frequented by homeless folks).

Yay for the grand opening of Wyatt’s Free Library! It’s such a great idea and I am sure it will be well visited by many! I love how happy Wyatt looks in that picture. I hope you are having a good weekend!
