Hello everyone! I hope that you have had a nice weekend! I did my best to forget what is happening Wednesday – the surgery I have been talking about for two months. It is all of a sudden here and I am trying very hard to not panic. I spent the weekend with family and hanging out, working on Wyatt’s little free library, and prepping posts. I will have posts up this week but after Wednesday I may not be replying for a while.
I had a rough reading week. Once the nerves started setting in, I began to have a hard time reading. I had to set the two books aside that I was reading, and find something a little bit easier to digest. So, I am back on the Tonya Kappes series, which is literally perfect for right now. Light, fluffy, short, there is a ton of them. Perfection. Lol.
What I am reading right now:

I imagine I will stick to this series until I start to relax a bit again.

What We Are Watching:
We finished up Sirens, which I really loved! Then we were in sort of limbo, and we ended up watching a documentary about the Delphi Murders. Then we watched The Meg, and also The Great Outdoors. We are also starting Dark Winds, season 3. We usually watch Jaws on the 4th but this year, we went for something different, so The Meg it was. The Meg is sort of an homage to Jaws so that was cool. It’s shark month around here. We may try to watch Shark Night, and Deep Blue Sea while we are at it.
And that is it from around here!
Erin, I send good thoughts and prayers for a smooth and successful surgery on Wednesday. I’m glad you found some books that will work for you right now. I look forward to seeing the LFL.

I went through health issues with my second son for the first few years after he was born so I know how stressful it is. Praying everything goes well.

I’ve been through some things in my life but when your child has health issues it’s a whole differnt ball game! At first I thought he was just acting like The Incredible Hulk because he loved that show. After a few hours I thought that something else had to be wrongbecause he would have gone on to something else by then. The next morning I took him to the dr. and he said he thought Anthony had cancer, even knowing were were headed to Florida the bext morning. That trip seemed like it took a few weeks. I was freaking out. When we got to Florida I took him to the dr. here and they ran tests. It was cat scratch fever!!! If I had still been in California I would have slapped that dr., I was madder than I’ve ever been before or after that!

It’s sooo hard to read once the nerves set in, at least for me. It’s always good to have something you can switch to that suits the mood (for me it’s light non-fiction usually!). Hope everything goes well!

Yes, I absolutely can’t focus when I am nervous! I have to read something easy to grasp. Lol. And thank you.

The Meg is based on one of my all time favorite books, loved the whole series of books that author wrote about that megalodon shark. I’ve got you guys in my prayers for the surgery this week. I can totally understand how it makes it hard to read anything. I’m glad you were able to find something that your brain could handle right now. Hope this is a good week and all goes well!

You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. Try to breathe deeply and surround yourself with everything that makes you feel safe and cozy. I’m praying for Wyatt’s surgeon and care team, too. I am sending you all kinds of hugs and positive vibes, too.
I didn’t know there was a documentary about the Delphi murders. We used to drive through Delphi and even stopped at the drug store where he worked. Our son lived in West Lafayette, and Delphi was on the way. I remember it as if were yesterday. I will have to look for that one.
Hugs my mitten state friend…

Thank you Marsha. I appreciate everything. 🙂
It was an older one, by the people who did the podcast Down the Hill. It must have been terrible to live there during that time – how sad and tragic. I am glad that they finally caught him.
And thanks Marsha!

You all will be in my thoughts and prayers Wednesday! I am hoping everything goes well with the surgery! I find I need easy, light reads when I’m stressed too or else I just can not focus enough to make sense of what is going on in the story.

A very good idea to pick up a lovely light book series – just what you need. While recovering from surgery myself a few years ago I read NINE Debbie Macomber novels set in Alaska!!! I am coming in very late here so I know the surgery went OK, but you also know I was thinking of you at the time x

Holy cow!!! That is a lot of Debbie Macomber! I am glad that you were able to find a series that worked for you too!
