It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hello everyone! We had a mini-trip last week for Wyatt’s music camp, and I was so happy to have a good book to relax with at the end of each camp day. I definitely needed that down time. Lol.

What I Read:

So this book. I absolutely loved it – except for one thing at the end. I want to complain about it here a little but I don’t want spoilers for people. It turned this potential five star into a 4. But other than that, I loved it. I am still processing it a bit, so that is that all I will say for right now. But my review will be up soon. Maybe next week.

What I am Reading This Week:

This week is a heat wave – starting today with temps at 99 but feels like temps much higher thanks to humidity. Gross. Wyatt and I are going to camp out in the den with books and I will try not to think about our electric bill as we stay cool. I am apparently in a horror mood right now.

Posted Last Week:

Thursday Morning Coffee Catch Up

Music Camp!

What We Are Watching:

Not too much. We are alternating between Yellowjackets and Edwardian Farm. Lol. We also started the movie Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn last night.

And wow, short post today! I hope that whatever you do today, you do something that makes you smile!

  1. I’m reading a student novel from 1920, a biography about a crime author, vintage crime, and a middle-grade novel. Talk about eclectic.
I’m also preparing for my next silent movie, but it’s a bit tough at the moment. Our temperatures are not as high as yours, but still way too high for me.

    Stay cool!

  2. Both Cursed Bunny and Dark Waters catch my eye, but probably mostly for my wife, ahaha.

It’s been really hot here too, especially by British standards (or what British standards used to be), but today the temperature dropped hard, and even though it’s still pleasant out, it feels practically cold in comparison. Hope your weather gets a bit more bearable too!

      1. Nope. The kids are not good with fans. The air con has broken 😭

Honestly there is nowhere to go. I have shut the curtains but it isn’t great. It has been slightly cooler today.

  3. I hate when there is something in a book we read, and we want to share and discuss, but can’t because it might spoil it for someone else! I guess that is what is good about buddy reads? Have a great week!

I have that book on my TBR list. I can’t wait to watch Yellowjackets again. It’s so good but so out there. We watched The Beekeeper with Jason Statham. It’s a wild ride! I’m supposed to be refining my graduation tour as well as writing a blog post, but I’m procrastinating! We aren’t going to be as hot as you, but it’s going to be in the 90s with high humidity.

    1. It was really good. Hurry up and read it so I can talk to someone about it. LOL.

Yellowjackets is WILD! I have found I can’t binge it every night because of how dark it can be but dang it is really such a great show!

Lol. It is the weather to procrastinate. I have been so lazy these past few days. Stay cool and hydrated!

    1. I definitely recommend it! Despite there being a part of the book that irritated me, it was really well done and engrossing!

The Cursed Bunny is all short stories, and I hope to start it tomorrow. It is supposed to be sort of gross so we will see.

I’m super curious about what brought the rating down with God of the Woods. It’s a book I’m interested in. I watched that Hepburn movie about a million years ago. I remember it being suspenseful! Have a great week, Erin!

    1. I am super eager to talk about this book. Lol. However this would be too much of a spoiler.

That was such a good movie! It was still very suspenseful and it was really neat how it all pretty much took place in that one apartment. It was really well done.

      You too Rachel!

I started The God of the Woods last night and was quickly sucked into the story! I love a book that doesn’t waste time and that makes me want to read all day! I look forward to your review, but I’ll wait until I’ve finished.
