It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful March so far! We have had a very busy start to the month, with Wyatt’s birthday trip one weekend and then birthday parties the next- busy but fun, with lots of cousin time for Wyatt yesterday.

Read Last Week (and the week before):

I enjoyed both of these reads! A Cotswold Family Life was a little different than what I expected but I loved it; it made me laugh out loud multiple times, with some of Mackintosh’s stories about her family, as they are just moments every parent can identify with. I very much enjoyed it.

Reading Now:

I started What You Are You Looking for is in the Library the other night and I love it so much. I wish it wouldn’t have taken me so long to read it honestly. I am halfway through and I am sure I will finish it soon.

For Middle Grade March, which Lisa at Boondock Ramblings reminded me about, I have a stack of way too many books to read. I am sure I will only get to a few of them this month, and will just keep reading throughout spring. I am starting with Two Girls, a Clock and a Crooked House, which I literally picked up because I love this cover.

Finally, I am listening to The Girls from Hush Cabin, which has me super intrigued. I need to know what happened to Violet, but even more so, I need to know what happened at camp!

Watching:

So this week Billy and I have watched a few different things. We finished up the Mysterious Benedict Society and are bummed that they canceled it and that there are only two seasons. We loved it. We also watched Murdoch Mysteries, Death in Paradise, and Murder is Easy, which was really good. We also started Sanctuary, which is a witch tv show. We will see how it goes, but so far it is pretty decent. I am ready for some of my favorites to come back with new seasons!

And that is about it from around here! What has been going on in your neighborhood?

  1. We’ve thought spring was here twice now only to have another cold frost come in. But our garden is in, and the azaleas are blooming…it won’t be long before spring arrives for real.

I just learned about Middle Grade March, but I hope to join in for at least a part of it. I’ve been reading a lot of middle grade books this year, so I think it will be pretty easy to read a couple this month.

  2. Time change, snow (we are supposed to get 3-5 inches), makes for a great day to stay inside. We watched church online because we knew we wouldn’t make it on time to the 9am service! All your books look good! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

We have been watching bunches of YouTube documentaries…Jack the Ripper, Bonnie and Clyde, and those kinds of shows. Mike just picks the weirdest things to watch! I’ve been watching old episodes of Spring Baking Championship. There’s just something about watching people competing in baking cakes and helping each other while trying to beat each other. I’ve been struggling with reading. I’m only 1/2 through a book that’s due tomorrow on my Libby, and I can’t renew it because too many people want it.

I’m waiting for the temperatures match the way it looks outside!

  4. I am a fan of the Murdoch Mysteries – though it’s been a while as they tend to put them on very late here and these days, I try to get to bed a whole lot earlier and keep forgetting to record them! I hope you have a good week:)).

  5. When I read Middle grade books I wonder why I don’t read more of them. I have a few on my shelf at the moment and am of course at present reading one. Gary D Schmidt is such a brilliant writer. I never read The Railway Children but I know its been a very popular book.

  6. I LOVED What You are Looking For is in the Library. It was such a calming read and I loved seeing the stories intersect. It was the daily deal on Audible a few weeks ago and I couldn’t resist getting the audio version. So glad Wyatt had a wonderful birthday! I really want to read The Railway Children. I got a copy of it several months ago but have yet to read it. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
