Hello everyone! We had a pretty big week last week, lots of happenings and big decisions and fun things too! Wyatt and I finally have gotten back on track with our schedule. We have had a crazy two months and it was so nice to get back fully into our routine. Just in time for us to go on a mini-trip this weekend! We are heading to Indiana to see the wolves at Wolf Park. This was supposed to be Wyatt’s birthday gift but he was in the hospital so we rescheduled. I mentioned last week that I had started making journals through Amazon’s self-publishing program and I made a special one for our upcoming trip (as well as the rest of our trips throughout the rest of the year). It arrives today and I am anxious to get started writing in it. I am excited about our trip too, I think Wyatt will really love it!

I have not quite figured out all the logistics of selling these yet. Lol. They are available on Amazon but I haven’t been able to master how to show the interior pages on the Amazon page quite yet; however I have been making these informational type things that I post on the Fox & Firth Facebook and Instagram pages that do show the interior pages. The storefront itself is here.
Read Last Week:

Shady Hollow is so cute!!! I am not quite done with it but I should be today or tomorrow. I really love it. I mean, any book that references Watership Down in the little blurb I had to read, and while it is nothing like Watership Down, really, except for talking animals, it is a great book all on its own. I also finished listening to Braiding Sweetgrass. I loved the book when I read it a few years ago and loved it even more listening to it being read by Kimmerer. I highly recommend it, whether you read it or listen.
Reading This Week:

I know going into this week that I am not going to have too much time to read so I am choosing my books accordingly. The Wild and Free Family is a shorter book that I can take my time reading, picking it up here and there, probably while Wyatt is in physical therapy and speech. I LOVED the Call of the Wild and Free by Arment so I am excited to start this one. And then The Moth Keeper just looks beautiful. It is a middle grade graphic novel and I look forward to relaxing with it at night. (plus I love Luna Moths!)

The Spring of Cary Grant: An Affair to Remember
Wonderful Watership Down Covers
Watched Last Week:
In TV, we watched When Calls the Heart, which Billy is truly such a sport for watching with me. We also watched a few Murdoch Mysteries, and then last night the newest episode of Brokenwood Mysteries. Brokenwood is seriously one of my favorite shows. I am also waiting very impatiently for new episodes of Hotel Portofino (the first season was amazing!) and Beyond Paradise, although that last one I feel like I will be waiting for a while sadly.
We of course also watched An Affair to Remember. This week our Cary Grant film of the week is Holiday! I have heard good things about that one and I am looking forward to it!
And that is about it from our around here today! I hope all is well in your world!
I hope you have a great trip. It sounds like fun. I’ve been hearing so many good things about When Calls the Heart. I have to try it. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your books.

I have been wanting to watch An Affair to Remember since the movie Sleepless in Seattle showed excerpts of it.
I plan to watch more of the Murdoch Mysteries.

Wolf Park sounds like so much fun… I’m sure Wyatt will love it! Your journals will be amazing and I really admire the creativity it takes to design them. Glad to know you enjoyed Braiding Sweetgrass even more on audio. It’s on my list, bit I will make sure to listen. Enjoy your week!

And thank you!
I definitely recommend listening to Braiding Sweetgrass, then reading it. The author just imbues so much with her words!

Wyatt loves wolves so I was trying to find somewhere we could get more up close and personal with them – well, within reason obviously. Lol. And found that place!
Hotel Portofino made me want to move to Italy. As a rich person though, so I could just laze around enjoying myself.

I love the cover of Shady Hollow.
I love When Calls the Heart! My favorite classic movie is An Affair to Remember, I try to watch it at least once a year. I’m not familiar with Hotel Portofino or Beyond Paradise so I’ll check them out.

Thanks Vicki! We are really excited!
And that cover is so adorable!
I do too. It is just so wholesome and happy.
I was not a super fan of An Affair to Remember. But, to be fair I was a little grumpy when I was watching it so that may have influenced my opinion a bit.
Beyond Paradise and Hotel Portofino are both so good!

The wolf howl is the part he is most looking forward to! LOL. I have little wolf ears I bought him to bring along with us. I am a dork, I know it.

My kids and I always kept journals when we took trips. I used the kind of notebooks that had pages that were only lined halfway. After my sons wrote about the day, they drew an illustration at the top. It’s so much fun to look back at those now. I hope you will share your journal.
I think I need to look for Wild + Free Family! You always read such wonderful nature stories. Thank you for sharing them with us.

We use those type of journal pages for school! Wyatt can write a little and then draw a picture.
The Wild and Free Family is really interesting so far! I was very inspired by The Call of the Wild and Free by the same author, which was about homeschooling, so I think I am going to really love this one too.

Your journals look really lovely. I liked the photo you shared because it shows inside and outside — if you can’t have more than one photo you’ll really have to include a good description. But I think they would be popular!

I really need to figure that part out!! LOL. Amazon has a module for including the interior pages to be shown but I just haven’t had the time to really spend on learning that part yet. Hopefully soon!! And thank you!!

I’m sure all of you especially Wyatt will have a lovely time. We have wolf sanctuary an hour away from us and always think about visiting but never have. Maybe this will be the year.

Let me know if you want to do a video chat to figure out that A+ stuff for Amazon. I can show you how I do it step-by-step. I can not remember if I sent you the article about it or not. I know you said you do better having something to read. I’m a combination learner who does better being shown how to do something for some things but also like to have instructions to read too.
