This past week was the last week before school started, our very last week of summer vacation. Part of me wanted to fill it up with as much as I could, and another just wanted to slip out of summer right into school slowly. We ended up doing a lot of hanging out at home, getting geared up, and eating lots of ice cream outside. This weekend is a holiday weekend, so Billy has three days off, and we are so excited! We spent our last day of August hiking in the woods, where we saw signs of fall’s upcoming arrival all around us. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! And today, the first day of September, it is rainy. I love a rainy day so I am not too upset, although we are supposed to go to a BBQ this afternoon so…we shall see.
Read Last Week:

Wow, did I love this book! I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did! You can check out my review here.
Reading This Week:
I love foxes so I am looking forward to Foxes Unearthed! And Leaving Time is a book club read for me. So far it is really good!
Watching:
We started watching Carnival Row on Amazon and are obsessed! I love Orlando Bloom though…
What is going on in your part of the world?
I’ll have to check out Carnival Row.

The end of summer has always been a sad time for me in the past, when I was working. Now I almost completely forget that summer is over and that school has started again. It sounds like you’ve got some great plans for the weekend. I hope the weather cooperates.
I think I’ll go take a look at your review of Where the Forest Meets the Stars.
Have a wonderful week!

Our barbecue party didn’t quite work out, but we still had fun visiting, just inside. Lol. I am feeling a bit sad about the kiddo going back to school. I will miss us hanging out but it will also be good to have some time to get some projects done lol.
I really loved Where the Forest Meets the Stars!

I’m so happy autumn is coming! Or here… I like to say 1st Sept is autumn but people like to disagree with that, lol. It’s my favourite season.
I hope your three-day weekend continues to be a good one! Have a great week.

Fall is my favorite too!!! I am so excited about it! It does feel like September 1st means fall is here! I am *trying* not to rush it too much this year but…. it is hard not too. Lol.

Yes, I love this cooler weather too! We had fallen into a great rhythm here this summer, so school is going to be an adjustment again, but we will get it worked out. I’m going to miss my bug!

I am looking forward to reading it! I love foxes, but they are pretty hidey around us, so we don’t see them very much. I can’t imagine living somewhere that we saw them frequently.

I want to watch Carnival Row, it looks fabulous.
I don’t think Where The Forest Meets the Stars would be for me, but it’s wonderful that you enjoyed it so much.
Have a great reading week

We’ve been having a gray but not yet rainy Labor Day weekend. It is bad for our solar collectors but makes nice reading time. Enjoy the start of school and cooler weather. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I’ve been SO busy this week. Just ran out to get fresh bread and sliced cheese from Whole Foods. Fed the kittens who are currently wearing cones of shame and getting ready for the tennis match today.
