Last week was a bit of a doozy! Summer hit with both barrels here in Michigan, with 90 degree temps- and of course my air went out!! And then my hard drive died! I felt sort of a like a jinx. Lol. Luckily we now have air again (Wyatt is very sensitive to heat) but alas, still no laptop. I am using my husband’s work laptop so I can’t use it much, so I might be hit or miss on here for a bit until I get a new one of my own. I am hoping for good 4th of July sale! I don’t need it to do much, really to surf the interwebs and blog. However, I do need a lot of memory I think, I have a ton of photos. Anyway, other than that nonsense, we had a pretty decent week, which ended in a shared family meal at my brother’s house. It was a good night.

So this arrived!! And I promptly devoured it. I am calling it my favorite read of the year so far, it was amazing. Thanks Dad for surprising me with a copy!
Reading This Week:
When I first read Karen White ages ago, I didn’t care for her work. I had been reading her Tradd Street series and had a hard time liking the main character. But then I picked up a book of hers that was not part of that series, and fell in love. I am slowly but surely making my way through all of her books. I needed a less intense follow up to Crawdads and Karen White is a go to author for me. So far, I am loving this one.

I don’t think I could survive for long without my laptop. A phone is nice but blogging on a phone is no fun. There should be some good back-to-school-and-college deals soon, I would think. Maybe July 4th, too. I am crossing my fingers for you that something good comes your way.
I thought the author of Crawdads created an amazing world with amazing characters. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much.
Have a great week!

Yes, even a few days has been a struggle!! I am the same, I can do so much with my phone but after that I need an actual keyboard and screen. Thanks for the luck wishing!
Omg I couldn’t believe what an amazing world that was. I liked that book way more than I expected to!

Ugh, big ticket items always seem to give up the ghost at the same time. I blog from my iPad because my laptop died quite some time ago and I can’t afford to replace it.
Have a great reading week, I hope you enjoy The Lost Hours

What is that about? LOL. It does seem to happen like that, what a pain. Yeah, I definitely can’t replace mine now but hopefully I find a good deal soon.
Thanks Shelleyrae!

I’d be lost without my laptop; I feel your pain, Erin. I’m glad the week balanced out with a nice family meal.
Hope you have a great week (finding a top notch laptop at rock bottom price in the sales) and enjoy your reads.

We have been looking and decided for now a lower priced Chromebook would do the trick! It is not bad so far, and if I have bigger projects I will just use the husband’s computer. Lol. So far so good!
And thanks Flora!

I need my laptop. I think I’m on it hours a day between blogging and computer games. I hope you get a new one soon. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Thanks Kathy! We decided on a Chromebook for now, since I just do internets things on it currently. It’s not bad, I kind of like it better! 🙂

Of course the air only goes out when you truly need it… what an awful week for that to happen. Glad it’s fixed now. Sounds like you enjoyed Crawdads as much as I did – yay!

Oh my gosh for reals. We had so many people help us though, it was quite a feeling of being blessed. Although still hot. LOL.
Seriously, I loved that book so much. I am loaning it around to everyone now, telling them they have to read it.

Sometimes it can be hit or miss with an author’s work. I use the laptop out here all the time. The girls have their own for schoolwork.

Yeah, it was definitely hard to live without mine! I do everything online – bills, groceries, all that. I didn’t want to bog down the husband’s so I had to do things old school all week. Lol. I have something now though thank goodness!
