So far, summer break has not been much break for me, but it is nice to have Wyatt here. Last week we did a bunch of non-fun things but still stuff that needed to get done, so I think..we might be ready to just kick back and relax for a bit! Friday Billy took the day off work and the three of us went to the zoo to celebrate World Giraffe Day, as giraffes are Wyatt’s favorite animal currently. We spent the rest of the weekend pretty much just hanging out around the house and with family, and it was nice to have a long weekend together.

Last week, I said I was going to read Where the Crawdads Sing, and I really honestly thought I was going to. Lol. Then I got a lot of comments from people mentioning that their library hold lists were seriously long and that they had a long wait, and I started to wonder. I went up to the library to see if it was in for me, and well, it wasn’t. So I asked about it, as my online account did not show that I was any number in line, so I assumed it was in for me. I learned that the library changed its policy and no longer is telling people where they are on the list, and that it appears I do have a while to wait. I was kind of bummed about this change in policy – I don’t understand it. My dad called as I was leaving the library and I was telling him about my book woes, so he surprised me later by calling and telling me that he ordered it for me from Amazon! Yay Dad to the rescue! In the meantime, I read Last Summer. I plan on reviewing it July 10.

I usually love Lorna Landvik so I am looking forward to this one! It’s all lined up in case Where the Crawdads Sing comes later in the week.

Aww, how sweet of your dad to order the book for you!! That seems like such a weird policy change… you’d think library patrons would want to know where they are on the hold list.

I haven’t heard any of these but I hope Where the Crawdads Sing comes in soon. It’s nice of your dad to buy it for you. I wish someone would buy me a book. Enjoy the rest of the week!

I love giraffes too! I already have Chronicles of a Radical Hag on my wishlist, one of the first books I ever read for bookclub was landviks Angry Housewives Eating BonBons.

They are such peaceful animals..I hate that people hunt them. 😦 I love Lorna landvik! My favorite is the Tall Pine Polka. I’m in a FB group and landvik guest posted the other day- she said so many people read Angry Housewives in book clubs or that they read it and start one. So cool!

I’ve been waiting for Crawdads forever (at one point I was fifty-something on the list) but it finally arrived for me last week. I’m trying to read it right away as, of course, there are a million other people waiting for it. I got right into it, so I don’t think I’ll have any trouble finishing it this week. Wasn’t it wonderful of your dad to order it for you!
I haven’t seen anything out of Lorna Landvik in a long time. I wonder if she has been writing but I’ve missed her or if she hasn’t written anything until now.

I’m so glad it came in for you!! Mine from my dad arrived today, I’m so excited!! It was so cool of him, he’s a good dad. 🙂 I know she had a follow up to Party Jane’s pretty recently but I couldn’t get into it. It did seem like there was a big gap between books though.

I just put a hold on the Landvik book at my library! It looks and sounds really good. Thanks for sharing it. I LOVED Where The Crawdads Sing! I hope you do too.

I really love Landvik! My favorite is The Tall Pine Polka,which I might need to reread very soon. Lol.
And omg Crawdads was so amazing. Probably my favorite read this year so far!

Oh my – how wonderful of your Dad to order the book for you. Hooray for thoughtful parents. How odd of the library to not show where you are on the list. I like looking to see where I stand!

Giraffes are awesome; I love how your zoo has a family of them. So weird your library’s new policy. I like to know where I am on the list b/c then I can plan other books around it.
