The Sunday Post/It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date
Autumn has arrived – at least for this weekend. It is cool and rainy and windy – I love it. This is my kind of weather. I got to pull out my jeans and long sleeve shirts! Not boots yet, but soon. I am thinking about soup and Halloween and coffee drinks and cider, and scary books too. This is my absolute favorite time of the year!
It was a week filled with reorienting ourselves to a schedule, with back to school and all that. This weekend was quiet. We went for a family walk in the woods, to a friend’s house for dinner, and then today (Sunday) Billy ran his first 10k while Wyatt and I cheered him across the finish line! So proud of him for all his hard work.
Read Last Week:

Last week I was waiting on so many books at the library – and of course, most of them came in all at once. So I finished up Bleak Harbor (so good!) and started Where the Fire Falls. I am enjoying this read so far – I love that it takes place in Yosemite in the 20s!

Reading This Week:

crooked house

I’m going to finish up Where the Fire Falls, and start Crooked House, which was my pick for our book club this month. I am looking forward to it – I have only read a few of Christie’s books but have really loved them. I need to read more!

Anne with an E – I love this show, although it gives me great anxiety for the characters. Lol. We are also watching Land Girls on Netflix, which is really good, and the Great British Bake Off.

How about all of you? What is happening in your part of the world?

  1. Hey congrats to Billy on the 10k- nice! And yeah I love this time of year- the cooler weather and windyness is definitely working for me this weekend!

I love that vintage type cover on Where the Fire Falls! And Bleak Harbor looks amazing w/ that cover!

    1. This is the best! Today is all rainy and I get to put on my new favorite sweater. Yay!

I love that too – I think that is what drew me to these books in the first place. I have one of the old school vintage NP posters in my son’s room and I plan to buy a few more. My brother actually bought a cool Sand Dunes one when we were up north this summer too.

  2. Omg! I jog 3.3 km every day and I can’t imagine doing 10! That is very impressive! Good for Billy. Your weekend sounds like my kind of weekend. What a blast. I hate waiting for books from the Library. 9 out of 10, I end up buying the book

  3. Where the Fire Falls looks good! The cover reminds me of all the vintage postcards we saw at Acadia National Park in July… I wanted to frame a few. It’s been really cool for the past few days here, too. I worn socks for the first time since January, lol! Guess it’s time to start thinking about heading to Florida.

    1. I love all that vintage National Park art! It is so cool. I have a poster in my son’s room of Sleeping Bear in that style. 🙂 Lol at your socks comment!! My dad is heading to Florida today for a quick trip, he definitely prefers the sunshine and warm weather too. 🙂

  4. That happens to me with books I’m waitlisted for. I spend months waiting for them, and then they all come at once. I hope you enjoy your upcoming reads! I’ve only read 1 Agatha Christie book. I was in high school when I read it, so I don’t remember it very well.

  5. I’m so ready for all the layers, soup and colder weather too – fully embracing the snippets of autumn we’ve had here so far. Sounds like a great week you’ve had.

I’m intrigued by Where the Fire Falls, plus the Christie you’re set to read for your book club is one I have my eye on.

Happy reading & a lovely week to you and your family.
