Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Never Reviewed

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Today’s prompt is all books I read but never reviewed – and whether I liked them. Unfortunately, this one is easy for me. I was very bad about reviewing last year! My goal is to do mini-reviews this year after I read 3 or 4 books and I have been doing pretty well. Granted it is still only February but I am determined!

The Teller of Small Fortunes: I LOVED it!

A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic: Also, loved it

Christa Comes Out of Her Shell: Yes, I liked it!

A Psalm for the Wild Built: Loved it and have recommended it personally to friends but never reviewed it

The Easy Life in Kamusari: It was pretty good.

Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop: Also one I enjoyed.

The Full Moon Coffee Shop: I didn’t care for it too much honestly

Sisters of the Lost Nation: Loved it!!

The Vanishing of Aveline Jones: Loved it. I love this whole series!

To Fetch a Felon: I adored this book and of course, the little corgi as well! I still want a corgi darn it. And, I want to read more in this series!

I have thought a lot about this. I regularly mean to review a book and just put it off long enough that I don’t remember it clearly enough to review (which really doesn’t take that long these days as my memory is not as good as it once was…). I think my reviewing and blogging in general has changed a lot since becoming a mom, too, because there’s just less time and energy left over. Plus I think book blogging is a unique pursuit because it’s double time and effort – it takes a lot of time to read the books, then there’s still the blogging. And if I have to choose, I’ll always choose reading over blogging! I like your idea of mini-reviews, because that way the books are on the blog, but it’s more manageable!

    1. These are all really good points!! My memory is also a little whiffy at times, especially with books. I chalk that up to mom brain and perimenopause. And absolutely being a mom has affected my blogging. Our jobs are never done lol. The mini-reviews have been so much easier to do. I write up a little paragraph of my thoughts, etc and done!

Oh, the mom brain/perimenopause double whammy! Add that to my existing ADHD and honestly it’s a miracle I remember who *I* am most days! I love being a mom so much, my kid is my heart, but definitely things that used to be just fun, easy tasks before kid are now huge, or just not as much fun as hanging out with said kid now that that’s the alternative use of time and energy! I’m going to have to give the mini-review idea a bit more thought. I’ve done that on my yearly reading pages for the books I read each year and didn’t review, but I haven’t done like a post. Maybe I should add mini-reviews to my weekly reading wrap-up posts when it’s been like 4 months and I haven’t gotten around to it or something! At least I’m not the only one!

    1. It seems like a lot of people haven’t reviewed that one! One of my favorite YouTubers did a review on it, but I was sad to hear that she didn’t like it! I just think she didn’t quite understand what the genre was about. She felt like it would have been a better manual for someone wanting to open a bookstore. Lolol.

  2. I love the mini reviews you’ve been sharing lately 🥰 I’m excited about a few of the books you’ve mentioned here too, especially Small Fortunes, it sounds so good. You convinced me to add Sisters Of The Lost Nation when you mentioned it in a previous post too. Aww how sweet that a book made you want a corgi 🥰

  3. I love your list! First of all, I think that a good corgi meme or gif makes everything better – have you read Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams? The MC is named Queenie, and her group chat with her best friends is titled ‘the Corgis!’ Just beware, it’s the kind of read that addresses some very deep issues as well.

This is such a good list, and I saw some books that I really am drawn to, especially The Teller of Small Fortunes, which has been on my TBR for an entirely unacceptable length of time.
