Hello everyone! I hope you had a good week last week! We had a sort of meh week but it was still good. Meh can be ok sometimes.
Read Last Week:

These books were both excellent! I checked them both out from the library, but they are both on my wish list now to own. They were perfect reads for this time of year! I had planned to read The Book Hotel, but.. it was too normal. Apparently I have been reading way too much fantasy and I am not ready to stop. I was like where is the magic? Where are the elves or trolls or whatever? So yeah.
Reading This Week:

I’ve been looking at this book on my shelf for a little while now, and it is time to get reading.
Posted Last Week:

Friday Morning Coffee Catch Up
Top Ten Tuesday: Gingerbread Books!
Watching:
Billy and I finished up Spiderwick, and have been watching Murdoch Mysteries and The Great British Bake Off. I am feeling so ready to bake after all these books I have been reading and now this show! We have also started watching Christmas movies with Wyatt. So far we have watched The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and I think tonight we will watch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas. That is actually Wyatt’s favorite of all that we watch. He is a big fan of Goofy.
I am off to the Potter’s Market with my friends this morning, and I need to get ready!

And just a reminder, Lisa from Boondock Ramblings and I have launched the linky for our Comfy Cozy Christmas link up. You can find it at the top of my page. Post anything seasonal, it doesn’t need to be Christmas – it can be a post from all and any walk of life for this time of year! And when the holidays are over, Lisa and I will hosting Cozy Crafternoons over Zoom in the months of January and February!
I need to bake this week. It feels like just the right time. Alas, my reading is so down this year. No one cares about that except me, though!

Some months and years are just like that. There are times I just don’t read for one reason or another. Life happens and that is good too. 🙂 And it is a great time to bake!

Lolol!! I am such a dork. I am one of those people though, I apparently read in phases or something. I am currently enmeshed in fantasy and when that burns out I will move on to something else for a while.

I am just all over the place but sometimes I do that too and there is nothing wrong with it.

I was going to add that sometimes I will pick up a book and if there is no mystery – just to people bumping into each other and eventually kissing I am all confused. “What is the point of this book? Is there no mystery? Are they just going to have awkward moments and kiss the whole book??”

Thanks Cindy! We had a great time, and I found a few things I loved enough and were within my budget (some of it was out of my range lolol) to bring home with me!

We did some baking while we had our grand- and g-granddaughter visiting us. I plan to do more.
Now I’m looking forward to The Wood at Midwinter.
Good luck at the market!

Hallo, Hallo Erin,
I stumbled across your lovely blog via The Sunday Post linky tonight. I posted a rather lengthy emotional and cathartic update myself earlier. Happily I interlaced the heavier news with a proper recapture of my adventures during Sci Fi Month, as well as talking about my final four reads for the event and what I’m reading after them, too. I commented on your bookstagram post for Kingfisher’s novel – as I was overjoyed to find a reader who loved that novel as much as I did myself! The narrator did such a grand job at bringing the characters to life! 🙂
I read books in print and listen in audiobooks – it began as an offset for my chronic migraines and became a preferred way to read. As I said on Insta, if you want, visit my blog for a very in-depth reaction to Kingfisher’s novel.
The Teller of Small Fortunes is on my TBR as I’ve been hearing good things about it in the blogsphere lately. Glad to have found you!

Hello Jorie!! I will have to visit your blog this morning and read your post! I loved The Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking! I just keep telling everyone around me to read it! I need to read Minor Mage. Did you read that one?
I read mostly print books but I will listen to audiobooks as well. I am glad that you found a way to get your books in even with your migraines! I am sorry to hear that you have them!
I had about two seconds to read last night but the pages I read made me excited to read more today.

Now, I want to make some gingerbread…cookies or cake…doesn’t matter! We are watching the Harry Potter baking show. It’s really kind of fun, the Weasley twins are the hosts. I am so far behind on the Great British Bake Off. I keep skipping over things on Instagram and Facebook that show up…someone is listening to what I watch! I don’t want any spoilers!
Have an awesome week…or meh…because meh is definitely OK!

Now I want someone to bake for me! 😉
Seriously, I don’t bake, although some of my ancestors were bakers, I don’t seem to have got their genes, but some of my siblings do.
Here’s to a good week, I’m with Marsha, meh is okay as long as it isn’t bad!

I am not a great baker either. I have to really try hard at it for things to work out. Lol. It can be very hit or miss. And thank you for the heads up about the link up!! It was supposed to end Jan 7th- for some reason it ended December 7th! It would not let me edit it either, so I created a part two and posted it on the perma-page. Argh!

I used to bake more when I was much younger, but tired of it quickly. My specialty was cheesecake (the German kind). I don’t eat cheesecake. ‘Nuff said, lol.

I have The Teller of Small Fortunes on my TBR. The story sounds great but honestly I can’t resist the cover! We’ve been watching Death in Paradise and I’ve been enjoying it and I’m incredibly behind on GBBO. I need to get caught up! I hope you’re having a great week!

I love seasonal baking shows so we’ve been watching lots of the Christmas Cookie Challenge. I’m ready to bake and decorate everything! With our small space in the RV, that’s not practical though, so I bought a Christmas cookie decorating kit from Target to at least scratch the decorating itch. I am not an artist but my husband and I have fun with our attempts. We even took a cookie decorating class for fun last Christmas!
I’ve been reading some Christmas books so I’ll try to remember to link to your Cozy Christmas. I hope you had fun on your market trip!

Ooo that sounds like a good watch!! That sounds awesome. I would love to take a class! I am not a great baker, and even worse at decorating them. Lol.
Oo that would be awesome! And we had a blast and spent too much money. So it was perfect!
