My Sunday-Monday Post

My Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hello everyone! The weather here is still frigid but we are no longer in the negatives, so I feel like that is a win. And we got snow, finally!! We’ve been focused on homeschool and therapy, and stuck inside, so when Billy took a half day Friday, we declared a snow day! We had so much, and it was good for the soul to get back outside. Of course, we followed it up with hot chocolate as well, which was also important, and good for the soul.

Reading:

I am afraid there is not much new on the book front! I am still making my way through the books I posted the other week. I am enjoying them both immensely, it’s just slow going for me right now.

Posted Last Week:

Homeschool Update: Monet, Magic Tree House, and Penguins

Jane Austen January: Movie Thoughts: Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Wednesday Morning Coffee Catch Up

Watching:

Billy and I finished up Lark Rise to Candleford and I am so sad that it is over! I really loved that show. We moved on to The Larkins, which is so summery looking and full of color and life and cheer. We are enjoying it very much.

We are also watching our Jane Austen movies for Jane Austen January! Last week we watched Pride and Prejudice, tonight we watch the Kate Beckinsale version of Emma. I have never seen this one and either has Lisa, so we will see how it goes!

And that is it from my little corner of the Mitten! I hope you are all doing well.

I feel like my reading has slowed way down this month and yet I’m not really sure why since I do feel like I’m spending lots of time reading. Today is supposed to be our last day of cold temperatures before it begins to warm up again and I’m looking forward to getting out for a hike or two in our snowy landscape.

Your snow day sounds like fun. It has finally warmed up a bit here too. I’m still staying in because that’s what I do. I enjoyed Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands but perhaps not quite as much as the first book in the series. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Phew I can only imagine! My cousin (who lives here in Michigan) was actually in Dallas during your cold snap and was so bummed out he wasn’t enjoying warm weather. Lol. He couldn’t escape! Then his plane was delayed a day and a half because it was hard to get the planes out of Detroit. I am glad you are warming up down there. 🙂

Oh, your snow is so pretty! We’ve gotten just enough snow to cover up the dog poop, again! I am not looking forward to cleaning up the backyard. We finished Fargo Saturday night. We also watched the second season of the Natalia Grace series…seriously weird stuff there! And, it happened in a couple of towns within an hour of so from us!

While I love winter, these frigid temps are doing me in, and I’m about to say I’m ready for spring. I just hope my roses survived!

    1. It is! We got quite a bit over here! Not as much as western Michigan but still more than we have seen for a while. I need to look this Natalia Grace show up. I don’t know what it is!

I love winter more when there is sunshine and snow, so the past few days have been better for me. Gray and and just gray, no. I hate it, especially with super cold temps.

  3. Sometimes when things get super busy reading just has to take a bit of a back seat I’m really looking forward to reading Emily Wilde at some point soon. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week!
