My Sunday-Monday Post

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date
Wyatt was home sick all week last week poor kiddo. And of course I got sick too. Lol. Needless to say, we had a pretty non-eventful week. We both were better by Saturday thank goodness, because the weather also finally broke – hello fall temps!  It’s been cool and breezy and sunny and beautiful. Yesterday we went to a tagged butterfly release, where our butterfly, which we named Lovebug, took off from my finger and headed south to Mexico! Godspeed little butterfly!

This is Wyatt with his cousin’s butterfly, Pinkie Pie. Our Lovebug took off immediately and didn’t stop for photos!
My friends and I also had a DIY workshop night – you know those cute wooden painted signs? My neighbor has a business running workshops for people to make them. We had a blast!
Read Last Week:
crooked house
I finished Crooked House and I loved it! I need to add more Agatha into my reading list. I have loved all the books I have read of hers.
Reading This Week:
the impossible girl
I started this last week but didn’t finish it yet. I am absolutely loving it so far!
Also reading, albeit slowly and here and there and whenever.
Posted Last Week:
A book review of Season of Wonder by RaeAnne Thayne – along with a giveaway for a copy of the book as well! Check it out!
Watching:
We have been sort of drifting about after having finished Anne with an E. We are not watching anything in particular. I am still watching Reign on Netflix, which is highly addictive. We did start Wentworth – the first episode was awesome! We haven’t gone back to it although we do plan on it.
How about all of you? What is going on in your bit of the world?
Also, I have no idea how this post ends up all crunched together every week. I am not sure what happens?

  1. With the start of fall, I’ve actually just started Castle Rock and boy, full of spooks and addictive! Also, your butterfly release went surprisingly well! When I ran that with a class a few years back, birds came immediately and well…… I don’t think any of them made it to Mexico

    1. Oo I am so glad to hear that!! We have it on our TBW list, tonight seems like a perfect night to start it! We actually watched the first episode already, and really enjoyed it! I forgot about it!

Lol! I actually had visions of that happening! I was so glad that it didn’t. Lol.

  2. I have Girl Wash Your Face…and I haven’t started it yet. Soon!

I need to check out Reign, since I love The Crown.

Butterflies are the best! When I graduated high school, I worked in a library during my “gap” year. An author named Leo Politi wrote about the Monarch butterflies. It was called The Butterflies Come. Beautifully illustrated.

My copy was autographed, and for the life of me, I can’t remember what happened to it! After I moved out of my parents’ house, my younger sister took over things I left behind…but she would never admit it.

    Yeah..dysfunction. LOL.

I see that the book is on Amazon, and the paperback sells for $480.00 and above. I should have kept better control of mine…

Pardon my tangent! I think Wyatt would have loved that book.

Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

    1. I love the Crown too!! Reign is..hmm. I love the show, it is so fun and addictive but it is also so so not historical. Lol. It is kind of like Gossip Girls or Vampire Diaries or something like that, just loosely based around Mary Queen of Scots. Lol. I can’t help but watch but at the same time kind of giggle at the “hijinks” that happen each episode.

Thank you for sharing about the book! I found it in our library system actually, and I placed it on hold. I am really excited for it to come in and read it with Wyatt! Ugh that sucks about your copy “disappearing”. I have some things that have disappeared over the years that I wish I still had. 😦

  4. I’m sorry you were both sick but glad you are now better. I wouldn’t say no to just hangin’ out at home. You and your friends are awesome. I wish I had a group to do stuff like that. I do have my two neighbors for Craft Night once a month. I usually knit because it’s easiest since for cardmaking I would take up half a table.

    1. We have fun. 🙂 It is so hard sometimes to get all of our schedules to mesh though, we have to either plan way ahead or send a flurry of emails back and forth – but it is worth it. I think it is great you have a craft night with your neighbors! Our local metropark is having a knitting day at the nature center once a month. It seems like it would be fun – if only I could knit!

  5. Aww, I like the butterfly picture. I hope Lovebug and Pinkie Pie make it to Mexico. My mom did butterfly releases with her class when she was a teacher. Birds always showed up right after they released the butterflies, so . . . yeah. I’m glad you guys are feeling better. Have a good week!

    1. I am excited to check monarch watch for their progress!

Haha that is what Lulu said too! I actually kept searching the skies but it seemed like the birds had other plans at that time, thank goodness. I can only imagine a classroom of kids watching their butterflies get owned by a flock of birds.

      Thanks!

  6. Aww that’s cute about the butterfly. Good luck to all of them haha! That’s a long way to go for such tiny creatures! And how about these fall temps??

I’m stalled on Wentworth S4 since I’m watching Iron Fist too, but I’m going to go back to it.

    1. I know right? Isn’t it so crazy to think those little delicate things travel all that way? I feel like they can barely fly across the street half the time. But I guess they are a little tougher than I imagine. Although statistically I think that 1 in 100 butterflies make it. 😦 Or some crazy number like that.

I am loving this weather! It is actually sort of chilly today, and I am loving it!

My husband is really excited Iron Fist is back on too. We are trying to finish up a few that we started before starting anymore – we realized we had a bunch started, including Castle Rock. Getting back to that tonight I think.

I’m glad that your weather has improved and that you are both feeling better. I’m still waiting for weather improvement here. Still rainy and gloomy. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  8. I have a couple Agatha Christie novels at home I need to read, too. The butterfly release sounds like a lot of fun as well.

I had a mixed bag of things I’ve been watching lately. Series 2 of Vera, season 1 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I started season 2 of The Good Place this morning. See, all over the place. 🙂

    My list!
