Hello everyone! I am sitting here drinking my coffee, looking back over the past week, waiting for my breakfast pie that I made to cool, because everyone needs pie for breakfast once in a while. Then this afternoon we are going to go for a hike and make a dried orange garland. Last week wasn’t too bad, but it sure was busy! I feel like I am in a good spot with the upcoming holidays as far as preparations, I had a video chat with a blogger friend which was a nice change in my week, we had takeout tacos on Friday, and all in all, it was a pretty ok week. We were supposed to have our virtual bake-off yesterday, but all of us were having a hard time finding some of the ingredients we needed so we decided to postpone, which is a bummer.

Read Last Week/Reading This Week:

I am almost done but not quite there! I am enjoying this read, although slowly. I don’t have much time to read right now but I am enjoying the calm I am finding in these pages when I do have the time. And my dreams lately have been so filled with the sea and water..I wonder why?

Posted Last Week:

Snow, Christmas, Quiet

These are a few of my favorite things..this year

Watching:

Sherlock! Whoa that last episode we watched..this show is amazing! So glad that we are finally watching it. We thought we were at the end but then saw we have one more season yay!! We are also watching Edwardian Farm, and finishing up Virgin River. As for movies, we have watched Christmas Eve on Sesame Street which was my favorite as a little girl. Watching it with Wyatt took me back to my childhood watching it with my parents. We also watched Charlie Brown’s Christmas, and a non-Christmas movie, Fisherman’s Friends which we loved!! This week we will watch Love Actually and The Muppet’s Christmas Carol, which we are saving for Christmas Eve this year.

Stay Safe everyone, be well, and happy holidays!

  1. Breakfast pie with coffee? That sounds like my kind of breakfast.

I’m sorry you had to postpone your bakeoff. I am looking forward to seeing how that comes out. I understand about not being able to obtain ingredients, though. I haven’t been able to get any eggnog this year, and that’s sad.

Love, love, love Charlie Brown’s Christmas. I am also a big fan of the 1965 How the Grinch Stole Christmas cartoon. I have never seen Muppet Christmas Carol, and I think I need to look for it.

    Happy holidays!

    1. It was so good honestly. I like to pick one winter weekend where we have pie for breakfast. This weekend was the winner!

Yeah it was a bummer! We were having a hard time finding the stuff to decorate the yule logs, especially since we are not going in stores ourselves. 😦

The Muppet Christmas Carol is seriously so good! Lol. Michael Caine plays Scrooge and he does a phenomenal job of acting against Muppets lol.

  2. Breakfast pie sounds wonderful! I’m thinking..Quiche?

They served quiche in the dining room the other day, but I missed it…I have been staying in my apartment later these days, enjoying coffee with my computer.

I love the Charlie Brown movies, and the memories spin me back to when my kids were little, singing along with the tunes. Good memories.

Enjoy your week and your holidays! Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. Forgot to add that we need to watch Charlie Brown Christmas this week too. And I’ll probably watch parts of A Christmas Story and of It’s A Wonderful Life, but I doubt I’ll sit through all of either one. I’ve watched them too many times.

It sure does sound as if you are having loads of fun. Good for you! That’s what the Christmas season is all about.

Have your pie and eat it. Of course you are allowed! It’s Christmas!

Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas with your family.

  6. I hope you enjoy your Christmas! Sounds like you did have a great week. We also got street tacos for dinner last week which were super yummy. I’ve been baking like crazy too but my Chocolate Swiss roll didn’t turn out so great but it still tasted good! lol. Looks like you are reading some great books too. We just watched A Muppet Christmas Carol! It’s one of my favorites. Sherlock is fantastic. I think I need to rewatch it.

  7. I’m sorry to hear about the virtual bakeoff but breakfast pie sounds amazing! As does watching Christmas movies. We haven’t done much Christmas movie watching but really should! The dried orange garland sounds fantastic. I hope you’re having a great week.
