It was a busy busy week around here. So many doctor appointments and conversations with insurance companies – ugh. I got my flu and pneumonia shots this week too, so another box checked on my list. It was a week really, of busy work like that, getting stuff done – I guess we really are like squirrels over here, getting ready for winter. Making bread, collecting seeds from the garden, cleaning and rearranging – my husband is getting ready to paint our family room and I am really excited about that. It gets so dark in there in the winter that the lighter paint color is going to make a huge difference. So, lots of preparations happening around here.

Oh my gosh, I loved this book! I think it really explores relationships, especially in families, in a very unique way… I would put this on my list of one of the best I have read all year.
Reading This Week:
I am really excited to read this! I feel like I have been waiting to read it for such a long time. Yay!!!

Watching:
The Great British Bake Off, Father Brown again since we apparently love that show, Sherlock, and Victorian Farm. And then starting next week we are going to start watching all of our spooky Halloween favorites, starting with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow – both the Disney cartoon and the version starring Johnny Depp.

It was a quick read too – I was captivated by it and also a little nervous! Lol.
We got a little off track with Wyatt’s surgeries but hope to get to the painting this weekend. I am looking forward to the change!

We’ve started the Great British Bake Off, and that has been good for us. Seeing those baking works of art, along with the flubs and disappointments—real life. And they are in quarantine, too.
We just painted our computer room. What a difference a coat of light paint makes.
I think I will look for Once and Future Witches. It looks promising.

The audio version of My Sister the Serial Killer was fabulous… I loved the narrator’s Nigerian accent!

We got our flu shots this week and it wasn’t too awful. I was kind of distracted when I got mine so I didn’t tense at all and my arm was barely sore at all. Definitely the way to go from now on. Good luck with the painting! We have to paint our stairwell when we get back and I have no idea what I really want to do with it. Have a great week!

My flu shot wasn’t too bad – but the pneumonia shot, holy cow. My arm was red and swollen for three days! I am glad that you didn’t have any problems with the flu shot. 🙂 So important this year to get them.

I’ve been preparing for winter too, mostly hoarding food and books so I don’t have to go out when it snows. I’m glad you liked My Sister, The Serial Killer. I need to read that one. Have a great week!
