My Sunday-Monday Post

My Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz

Last week was bit crazy. It started off ok, then my asthma kicked it up a notch to the point I had an emergency room visit in the middle of the night Thursday which was not fun! I am doing better now though thank goodness. And thank goodness for doctors and respiratory therapists and drugs. Lol. I was all fixed up and able to go on my annual girls trip with my friends on Saturday! We went to Midland, MI and had a really good day.

Read Last Week:

I finished The Dead Girls Club. I wasn’t super wowed with it honestly, although it was an ok read. I also tried to read Lore Dreadful Places because I love the podcast but I didn’t enjoy the book as much. It was a lackluster reading week unfortunately.

Reading This Week:

Going with the classic Agatha Christie this week. I am the host for book club this month and this was my pick. I am looking forward to it!

Watching:

The Great British Bake Off, Gilmore Girls (me), Mapp and Lucia on Britbox, and Criminal Minds on Netflix, and all the new Molly of Denali episodes!

What about you all? What’s going on in your neighborhood?

  1. Ooh, sorry about the asthma attack. I have asthma, but “controlled” for now. Best wishes!

I love Gilmore Girls. Last night I watched most of Season 3 of Divorce, on Amazon Prime. I enjoy the Sarah Jessica Parker character, but hate the ex-husband played by Thomas Haden Church. I always want to bop him in the head. LOL.

    Enjoy your week!

    1. I actually have no idea why that happened to me. I haven’t needed meds or my inhaler in like 4 years, then out of the blue it went really bad, really fast. I go to my doctor tomorrow so we will see what she says.

Lol! I haven’t watched that show! But Gilmore Girls is a constant favorite of mine. 🙂

  2. Asthma is awful. My symptoms have been managed pretty good for years so I’ve been lucky that way.

I’ve been on a British show spiral – Lark Rise to Candleford being one, but then I got annoyed they kept rotating love interests out the door for the two main characters.

I’ve never read an Agatha Christie book. I feel like such a loser so I need to add it to my list of “dos” this week.

I need to check out Mapp and Lucia…sounds like I might like it.

    1. Oh my gosh, I have no idea what happened to me honestly! It was horrible. I have always had mild asthma that affects me with illness or allergies to pollen. I have never needed meds and in the last four years I haven’t even needed my inhaler. So last week was out of the blue and really weird. And scary!! I am glad to hear that yours is under control. I hope that we can figure out what is going on with me.

I am addicted to my Britbox. LOL.

I just started reading her! I read like one or two of her books a year. I am liking them!!

      You probably will…. 🙂

  3. I love the look of Dead Girls Club! Sorry to hear it was just okay. And asthma- yikes. My daughter has it and hers flared not too long ago too. Hope you’re feeling better!

I haven’t been to Midland in ages but I grew up not too far from there.

    1. Yeah, I was a little disappointed in it! I wanted more. And then I picked up Never Have I Ever, and honestly I was still feeling the meh from Dead Girls Club that it made me not want to read Never Have I Ever. It was a weird downhill reading roll there.

Oh no! I am sorry to hear your daughter had a flare up as well. I am glad she is doing better!

I had never been there and it was really cool! I had no idea it was such a mid-century modern city, and the Dow Gardens and house were amazing. I plan on posting about it tomorrow, hopefully.

  4. Glad you’re better; asthma attacks can be tricky. My daughters’ Ninoong and one of my godsons can have respiratory problems when they get run down and such. Yay for being able to make it to the girls’ day trip.

  5. Oh dear. A trip to the emergency room is scary. Thank goodness the people there were able to get things under control quickly. Especially glad you were able to go on your girls’ trip.

My husband and my sister-in-law both love Agatha Christie. I bet you will have a good discussion.

I’m enamored of The Great British Baking Show, and I’m happy it is back on.

    Have a great week!

    1. Yes, so very thankful for the hospital staff who work those crazy hours – like one of my best friends who actually was working the night shift and gave me my breathing treatment. She is an amazing person and works so darn hard. She was also going on our girl’s trip so I felt sort of safe just having her there. Lol.

I am just starting to read her books, and I am enjoying her work!
