My Sunday-Monday Post!

My Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz

It was a pretty good week last week! Wyatt had his first full no tears week at preschool (separation anxiety poor kiddo), I met a friend for coffee one morning, Billy had a surprise day off, and then Saturday we had a great time visiting with good friend we haven’t seen for a while, and went to a bat festival! I also had a pretty spectacular reading week!

Read Last Week:

I read all three of these books last week and loved every single one! The Vine Witch was my favorite of the three, and I really love that cover. These were all so different and so good in their own ways. Reviews for The Spook in the Stacks and The Vine Witch coming soon – and I already posted one for Pumpkinheads!

Reading This Week:

This week I am reading The Dead Girls Club and The World of Lore: Dreadful Places. The reads are getting scarier! I really wanted to read The Dead Girls Club because it sounds like the Christoper Pike books I used to read as a kid that scared me so much. And I love the Lore Podcast so I am looking forward to reading a book by Mahnke.

Book Review: Pumpkinheads

Hello, October

Currently…October

Flannels and Farm Markets

Watching:

We finished up Veronica Mars (the new season), which we loved. Now we are watching The Dark Crystal, The Great British Bake Off, and we finished up Season 2 of Derry Girls as well. We also watched We Have Always Lived in the Castle which I have been waiting and waiting for – and it was worth the wait!

How about you? What is going on in your neighborhood?

  1. It sounds like a good week! I have the Vine Witch and have yet to read it so I’m glad you enjoyed it. My daughter watches the Bake-Off; I can’t seem to find any time for tv. You’re getting into the autumn spirit. It’s finally cooled off here so maybe I can get there too. Have a great week!

  2. I had a lie-in this morning after last night’s dinner party and made myself workout since I ate past my fasting time; I was chatting away and didn’t realize the time. Then I started laundry and started tackling the backlog of blog posts from everyone in-between giving the tween a ride to her playdate, making lunch for me and the husband, and feeding the kittens.

Sound like you all had a lovely week, Erin. I’m so pleased that you little man is enjoying pre-school more.
I’ve seen a lot around the blogosphere about The Vine Witch and I look forward to reading your thoughts.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and you enjoy your next reads as much.

Yay for a no tear week at preschool! I hope his anxiety about school continues to lessen. A bat festival sounds like a lot of fun. I love the cover of The Vine Witch, and am so glad you enjoyed it. It sounds like something I would really like as well. I hope you enjoy your current reads! Have a wonderful week.

  5. I did watch one episode of Derry Girls – I like the Irish humour, but I am not much of a viewer, I get side tracked. It’s big for Wyatt to take that step of leaving you for preschool, so good that he is settling in. Not easy on you to know of the tears, would pull on you heaps. Enjoy your scary reads.

  6. Thought of you Sunday — we were driving through Detroit looking at old family spots and Kevin was showing us where he worked which is right near Greenfield Village so we drove by there. Now I think I can find it by myself next time!

  7. It sounds like you’ve had a good start to October.

I feel you on the kids separation anxiety (my son is the same) – so I know this week probably felt like a great victory with no parting tears.

I’ve seen The Vine Witch a couple of times now – including advertised on my Kindle – and I’m definitely intrigued by it. I get all the autumnal & Halloween vibes from your reading picks!

Happy reading this week & a wonderful week to you and your family.
