Can you believe we are already at the end of September? This month flew by so fast, it’s crazy! Last week was a busy one, full of appointments and even a field trip! I was lucky enough to be able to accompany my niece on her school field trip to the pumpkin patch and I had such a great time with her. We picked out pumpkins in the field, rode in little pumpkin carriages like we were Cinderella, and of course ate doughnuts! Then over the weekend my guys and I went to a Fall Farmer’s Market and to the our town’s Fire and Flannel Festival, complete with ax throwing and lumberjacks! A perfect way to end the month.
Read Last Week:
I finished The Simple Wild (loved it!!) and read The Other Mother as well, which was a great big mind trip. I tried to read Wild and Crooked, but my heart was just a little too sensitive right now to get through it. I am planning on buying it and keeping it on hand though, I feel it could be an important read somewhere along the line. I plan on doing a mini-reviews post this week of the two I did read.
Reading This Week:
The Spook in the Stacks was a whim pick up at the library the other day. I must have been in the cozy mystery mood, and I am loving this one. And now I want to read Sleepy Hollow again. I am such a Sleepy Hollow fan – books, movies, etc. And then I just love Rainbow Rowell, so I am looking forward to Pumpkinheads too.

Watching:
Veronica Mars! We remembered we hadn’t started the new series yet and we are OBSESSED! I love Kristen Bell. Lol. We are also watching The Great British Bakeoff too – so good! Although one of my favorites went home. 😦 When we take a break from Veronica we also watch Criminal Minds and Death in Paradise.

Pumpkinheads sounds great for this time of year but I must say I didn’t like my short introduction with Rainbow Rowells Attachments. It’s snowing in my neck of the woods already but I’ve seen big boxes of pumpkins for sale around town.

Loved The Simple Wild too. I love Tucker as an author, and am going to read one from her back log this week, bagged fromt he library.

I can’t wait to hear what you think about Pumpkinheads. I’ve been up and down with that author—-sometimes I love her books and sometimes…well, not so much.

That’s so great that you got to go with your daughter on her school field trip. I wish I had done more things like that with my son when he was younger. Glad to hear you loved The Simple Wild. I just read her latest book not too long ago and loved it so I’ve been wanting to go back and try The Simple Wild since I haven’t read that one yet.

We had a lot of fun! She’s my niece, and it was really great to be able to have that time and ability to go with her. We made a memory! 🙂 I really need to read more Tucker!! I am going to make my way through her backlist, I can tell. Lol.

I love Death in Paradise! We were crushed when they changed DI’s after the first season. I haven’t read any of the books you read or are going to read, but they definitely look interesting.

Oh my gosh, us too!!! I couldn’t believe it. I had to stop watching for a bit, then go back. After some time away I was able to adjust to the new guy – then they switched again! This third Detective is my favorite though. 🙂 So I guess it worked out ok!

Sounds like there was a lot of fun to be had at the pumpkin patch! We grew our own pumpkins this year which was fun. Fingers crossed they survive until Halloween!
