This past week was a flurry of activity! I am leaving this week for Texas, while my two guys are staying at home. I am anxious and excited all at the same time! I am trying to get everything ready for them before I go too, so I am super busy getting my own stuff together, cleaning everything, planning everything – so much to do!! We also had a few days of excessive heat, which didn’t help with running errands, but oh well – I still have a few more days before I take off!

Read Last Week:

I holed up for a few days with Wyatt, reading a bunch of books to him, but I haven’t gotten much reading of my own done. I did start a book by Mary Stewart, who I love, and I am enjoying it. I hope to finish it by Thursday as I am just packing my Kindle! If not,  I will just buy the Kindle version I guess though..lol.

Loaded on my Kindle to read:

The whole purpose of this trip is a mom’s retreat, with lots of free time, so hopefully I get lots of reading in!

Nine Coaches Waiting: The twisty, unputdownable romantic suspense classic by [Stewart, Mary]

Wildfire at Midnight: The classic thriller you will not be able to put down by [Stewart, Mary]

Have I mentioned that Mary Stewart is a comfort read author for me? Lol.

Watching:

The Tour de France. It’s pretty much all we watch for 21 days in July.

Posted Last Week:

Paris in July: The Tour de France

How about you guys? What is happening in your neighborhood?

  1. When I was growing up, my mom shared all her favorite writers with me—Phyllis Whitney, Victoria Holt, Dorothy Eden—and the one I grew to love best was Mary Stewart. They were comfort reads for my mom, too. The novel I remember loving most as a young adult was This Rough Magic. I should find that one and reread it.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your moms retreat!

    1. Aw I love that story!! I love her books – I can’t even really put my finger on what it is honestly. They are sort of old fashioned but I love that about them. I don’t know how I started reading her, but I wish I could remember. 🙂 I loved This Rough Magic too. 🙂

      And thank you!
